Film and Theatre Lover!
With the release of his memoir ‘One Helluva Ride’, Michael Douglas is doing two events in the UK on a little tour when the book launches. One in Swansea and one in London, I have a ticket for the London event and very excited. I really do love this type of talk from actors, and he has been one of my favourites for many years now. Included with the ticket is a copy of the book.
Even more sad news today that actor Tim Curry has passed away at the age of 80, he had battled illness for many years since having a major stroke in 2012. He still continued to do different events and appearances over the last few years.
He had so many legendary roles, including my personal favourite as Frank-N-Furter in the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Maybe most well known for his role in Home Alone 2 or Annie. He was also Pennywise the Clown in IT. His filmography including many more amazing films and tv shows.
Thoughts go out to all of his family and friends. ❤️
Such sad news broke this evening that country singing legend Dolly Parton has passed away at the age of 80. A true legend to music, an amazing person and someone who had also appeared in many movies and tv shows.
Always with a smile on her face in whatever appearance, famously wrote “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You” in the same day! Thoughts go out to all of Dolly’s friends and family, rest in peace ❤️
The Platt family must work together to survive when a cosmic event transports their suburban neighbourhood back to a very different place and time!

Such sad news breaking this morning that at the age of 36 Hayden Panettiere has died. She was a child star from her breakout role in the incredible Remember the Titans and went on to star in many different films and TV Shows. She had been very open and honest about he struggles over the years and that makes this news even sadder. Thoughts go out to her friends, family and daughter.
Kate has worked her whole life to become a top chef in New York City, everything she thought she knew and wanted is about to be tested when she becomes the guardian of her young niece Zoe.

When Kenna Rowan is released from prison, all she wants to do is be reunited with her young daughter but faces a huge resistance from the parents of her deceased boyfriend.
⭐️⭐️
The pace of the film is at an utterly slow pace and we are left to wait to find out what exactly happened and why Kenna ended up in prision, I felt as though knowing that sooner might have made the emotional aspect a little bit better. Anyway she had her daughter taken away straight after birth when in prison, and it went to her dead boyfriend’s parents who she had been accused of killing.
We see the process of what happens to her when she is released and that it is certainly not easy to get a job or find a place to live when coming out of prison. She instantly clicks with Ledger Ward who owns the bar and oh you guessed it just happens to be close to her daughter Diem and helps with different tasks as he was close friends with Scotty.
Now, that leads to my first big issue with this film. He was supposed to be such good friends with Scotty that he had no idea at all who Kenna was when meeting, so how could he really have been that good of a friend when he did not know the woman Scotty had been in love with? This was pretty early on as well, and I had thought about not bothering with the rest.
Anyway you know whats going to happen with that pair going forward, I don’t even think saying that is a spoiler as you guess it all within minutes. The same with what will happen overall, so it didn’t really have much going for it at all. The casting seemed to be a little off as well, Maika Monroe has nothing about her at all and just lacks any charisma, she is now firmly on my list of awful actresses with Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried and Zendaya.
A struggling young woman named Millie becomes a live in maid for a wealthy couple, Nina and Andrew who both have their own issues as well. The psychological games that unfold from the trio take many twists and turns.

On Tuesday 14th July I managed to get myself a ticket to see the Rocky Horror Show on Broadway, this was something I had decided I wanted to do before my NYC trip after seeing the footage of Luke Evans as Frank from the Tony Awards.
He did not disappoint, he was truly incredible and I managed to get a lovely photo at the stage door after the show. Very lucky mind as I was totally in the wrong place for quite a while!
