Bill Nighy and Kate Winslet

Yes I have a strange thing for Bill Nighy and just love Kate Winslet. I have just come across this picture, so had to blog about it.

It was taken at some awards show in January 2009. I don’t know which one, must have been some British awards I reckon. But I just adore Bill, mainly from his role as Billy Mack in ‘Love Actually’.

The Boat That Rocked (2009) Trailer

OK because I totally love Bill Nighy and there is not long until this film comes out. A posting of the trailer is required.

Movie Picture of the Day 2

Today’s picture is from the fantastic “The Dark Knight’ with The Joker . . . yes why so serious? Health Ledger’s Oscar winning performance.

The Damned United (2009) Trailer

As I’ve already posted how excited I am for this film. Thought it would be a good idea to post the trailer up too. Brian Clough really was a character for the game of football and will always be remembered. This film should introduce a younger generation to how brilliant Cloughie was. The book ‘The Damned United’ was great so the film should be too.

Duplicity (2009) Trailer

So this trailer for Julia Roberts (and Clive Owen’s) new film was on last night when I went to the cinema. It looks like it is going to be a good film. Pleased to see Julia and Clive in another film together after the good chemistry they had in ‘Closer.’

Ang Lee To Head Venice Film Jury

Oscar-winning moviemaker Ang Lee has been chosen to select the winners at the upcoming Venice Film Festival in Italy.

The Taiwanese-born director has been named the head of the jury at the 2009 event, which will take place in September.

The highlight of the prestigious film festival is the presentation of the Golden Lion trophy, which is often seen as a key indicator of a movie’s potential at other prizegiving ceremonies.

Lee was handed the prize for his 2005 drama Brokeback Mountain, which went on to triumph at the Academy Awards – gaining Lee a Best Director Oscar.

He also won the coveted Italian award in 2007 for controversial movie Lust, Caution.

Lee will now head the panel, which will decide this year’s honourees. A statement from festival organisers reveals the star was picked for his success in “creating a dialogue between the film-making culture of the East and West.”

Gran Torino (2008) Review

So this is supposed to be Clint Eastwood’s final film in front of the camera . . . I really hope it is not, as he really is just a fantastic actor. He really has the onscreen presence which is so often lacked in younger actors. Clint Eastwood is an acting legend and should be watched by everyone. I am also very impressed with his directing skills as well.
