Poll number 1

Every now and again I am thinking of doing a poll on the blog . . . here is number 1

Taylor Swift

Yes this is a very random post, and doesnt really have anything to do with movies. But the odd random post about something else, or a little rant and stuff like that would be cool, right?

Yeah I think so. I am currently listening to iTunes and have had a couple of her songs on, and they are so good. They really appeal to me at the moment with the lyrics and stuff like that. So I figured I had to state this on my blog, haha. Yes it is random, but the songs are so good. I do sometimes think she is a little young to be singing some of these things as she cant really know what its all about, but hey who am I to judge?

Love Story is on now . . . love it !!! “Take me somewhere for us to be alone . . . you be the prince, i’ll be the princess . . . “

Third Da Vinci Code Movie Gets Go-ahead

I think thats the right thing to do, Dan Brown’s book really are popular. I have read The Da Vinci Code and thought it was fantastic. I have not read Angels and Demon’s yet, and really want to before I go to see the movie.

Fans of Dan Brown‘s The Da Vinci Code books will not have to wait long for another movie installment – the author’s latest sequel has been green-lighted by film bosses before the novel even hits the shops.

The film adaptation of The Da Vinci Code, starring Tom Hanks, was a box office smash in 2006, grossing more than $758 million (£505 million) worldwide.

The prequel, Angels & Demons, is due to hit cinemas in May, while Brown’s latest book The Lost Symbol – the follow-up to The Da Vinci Code – is slated for release in September.

And executives at Columbia Pictures, the studio behind the movies, have already given the go-ahead for a film version of the new novel – stepping up negotiations to lock down a deal for Brown’s latest work, according to Variety.com.

Angels & Demons will be released on 14 May.

Rourke Begged Boxing Coach Not To Give Up On Him

I just love anything about Mickey. I am so glad he managed to convince his coach that he wanted to box 🙂

Mickey Rourke‘s boxing career almost ended before it started – because his trainer insisted he wasn’t committed or disciplined enough to be a great fighter.

Top coach Freddie Roach, who is currently training Manny Pacquiao for his upcoming fight with Brit Ricky Hatton, refused to work with Rourke when the actor first approached him in 1990 – because The Wrestler star only turned up for training once in seven days.

Roach says, “I came out to Hollywood. I was here for seven days (and) he showed up in the gym one day in seven…. I ripped him so bad he actually cried.”

The actor remembers the harsh lesson he learned that day: “Freddie came into the gym one days and he goes, ‘Listen, I don’t train people to lose fights; you’re not running, you’re not doing this, you’re not doing that. I’m going back to Las Vegas.’

“I was making all kinds of excuses because my head was crazy… I was in tears. Freddie packed his bags and went back to Las Vegas.

“Freddie humiliated me, embarrassed me and reduced me to the fact that I was not giving 100 per cent, I was not being a professional and I was setting myself up to not be as good as I could be.”

But Rourke refused to give up – and kept begging his trainer to reconsider.

Roach recalls, “He called me every day for 30 days and then finally I said to him, ‘Ok, if I come back, the next day you have off is the one I give you.’

“I think he had discipline in his life for the first time ever.”

Rourke quit acting and trained to become a professional boxer. Roach coached him for seven of eight fights before Rourke retired from the ring unbeaten. He won half his fights by knock-outs.

Foxx In Talks To Play A Woman In Movie

A man in drag is usually amusing !!!

Jamie Foxx is in talks to appear in drag in a forthcoming movie, playing one of the characters that helped launch his career in comedy sketch show In Living Color.

Foxx found fame alongside Jim Carrey in the 1990s TV series, playing a variety of characters, including Wanda – an outrageous party girl.

The Oscar winner insists he would love to bring Wanda back, and admits he is in talks to take her to the big screen.

Foxx tells Moviefone.com. “I would do that in a minute… That would be great. We’re actually looking into something like that.”

Thurman, Ryan & Goldberg Headline Tribeca Film Festival’s Judging Panel

What a fantastic line up !!!

Hollywood stars Uma Thurman, Meg Ryan, Whoopi Goldberg and Adrien Brody will head up the judging panel at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival in New York.

The actors will be joined by fellow celebrities James Franco, Mary-Kate Olsen, Bradley Cooper, Melissa Leo, Parker Posey and Morgan Spurlock, who are all among the 32 jurors at Robert De Niro‘s movie event, which kicks off on Wednesday.

The line-up was announced at a press conference in the Big Apple on Tuesday, which featured Thurman, director Spike Lee and festival founders De Niro and Jane Rosenthal.

And New York resident Thurman is delighted to play such a key role in the eighth annual festival.

She says, “For me and people who enjoy films, Tribeca has been a major event for which all look forward to with major anticipation. As a New Yorker, it’s wonderful to see the impact it has on the city.

“This year is especially exciting because I get to be a part of it as a juror.”

De Niro founded the event with Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff to help revitalise the lower Manhattan area after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 – and he is proud to continue celebrating New York City as a major film-making centre.

He adds, “It’s great to see how much the festival has grown since we started it in 2002 and how it has impacted this neighbourhood.”

The Tribeca Film Festival, which will host the world premiere of Woody Allen‘s new movie Whatever Works on Wednesday, runs until 3 May.

Bale To Box With Wahlberg In New Film

I very much like the sound of this, love Christian and Mark . . . both of them in a movie about boxing is just going to be incredible !!!

Christian Bale is stepping into the boxing ring with Mark Wahlberg – the actors have signed up to co-star in new film The Fighter.

Bale will play boxer Dicky Eklund in the movie, about the path to redemption from a life of drugs and crime he discovers by helping his half-brother, Wahlberg’s character ‘Irish’ Mickey Ward, to win the world lightweight championship.

Director Darren Aronofsky had previously lined up Matt Damon and Brad Pitt for the role, before Bale was poised as a replacement.

Production is scheduled to begin in July, reports Daily Variety.
