News: Rourke In Mona Lisa Remake

Havent had any Mickey news for a while, hearing about him in a new movie is always nice 🙂

Mickey Rourke is to star in a remake of the 1986 British gangster movie Mona Lisa.

The Wrestler star will portray an ex-con working as a chauffeur for a high-class escort, rumoured to be played by Casino Royal actress Eva Green.

The original movie’s line-up included Bob Hoskins and Michael Caine, and saw Hoskins go on to win the 1987 Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama.

News: Hanks Takes Angels & Demons To Number One

No suprise really !!!

Tom Hanks is back at the top of the U.S. box office after claiming the number one spot with Angels & Demons.

The new thriller shot to the top of the new film countdown with an opening weekend take of $48 million (£32 million).

The film only just pipped Star Trek to the top spot – the sci-fi blockbuster took in $43 million (£28.6 million) during its second weekend on release, but tumbled from last week’s number one.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past and Obsessed round out the new top five.

News: No Sequel For Calendar Girls

I couldnt really see how a sequel would have worked when it was based on a true story.

Dame Helen Mirren’s co-star in Calendar Girls has laughed off reports of a sequel to the hit film – insisting the movie has produced enough spin-offs already.

Penelope Wilton starred alongside Mirren in the surprise 2003 smash, which chronicled the real-life story of a group of Women’s Institute members who produced a nude calendar to raise money for charity.

The movie grossed a massive $93 million (£62 million) worldwide and was this year turned into a hit West End show, while an anniversary calendar has just hit the U.K. shelves – but Wilton is adamant there won’t be another film.

She says, “I know a new tenth anniversary calendar has just come out, and there is a stage show as well, but I don’t believe there should be a new film. The Calendar Girls brand has gone as far as it can go.”

Netflix !!!

I am so slipping on the dvds with Netflix I need to get sorted and start sending them back quicker after watching them. Also the other night it was not possible to watch online for some reason, nothing would load up. So Netflix have been very nice and given some money back for the inconvenience. Which I thought was very nice of them, haha.

News: Davis Gives Up On Marriage

Awww poor Kristin . . . totally opposite of her SATC character Charlotte.

Sex & The City star Kristin Davis has given up on her dreams of marriage.

The actress has been candid about her hopes of finding lasting love, but at 44, Davis has yet to walk down the aisle.

But she insists she’s found fulfilment on her own, without a life partner.

She tells the New York Daily News, “I don’t know if I’ll ever get married. I don’t say never, but I just might not. I’m 44, but I think you can have what you want no matter how old you are!”

Ironically, Davis brought the plight of single, middle-aged women into the spotlight playing the prissy Charlotte York Goldenblatt in the long-running TV series-turned-movie, which ended in her character’s happy marriage.

10 Movie Quotes – That Mean Something To Me

I decided to do a list of 10 movie quotes that really mean something to me and I really relate to with how I feel about love, a certain man and life in general. I probably have posted most of these quotes on the blog at some point, but that just shows how much I love them,

“Sometimes I wish I had never met you. Because then I could go to sleep at night not knowing that there is someone like you out there.” (Good Will Hunting) –

While I love this quote, I more love that it kinda explained how I felt about someone a while ago. I always feel it is mis-quoted in terms of how it is said in the movie, as it is not said between two people who love each other. It is about Will Hunting (Matt Damon) being so brilliant.

“I’m scared of walking out of this room and never feeling the rest of my whole life, the way I feel when I’m with you.” (Dirty Dancing)

Dang this hit me very hard when I watched the movie recently as it was totally how I felt when I left to come to the USA when I kinda said goodbye to someone. Although we did not say bye as such . . . but that whole moment in Dirty Dancing is totally how I felt.

“After all . . . tomorrow, is another day.” (Gone with the Wind)

I think this is always important to remember. That no matter how bad things are, tomorrow is another day (and hopefully a change in fortune?)

Kevin Spacey is considering starting an Internet campaign to land the job of hosting the 2010 Academy Awards.

The actor has a great relationship with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, having scooped statuettes for The Usual Suspects and American Beauty, and now he wants to take over from fellow actor Hugh Jackman as the host of the 82nd Awards.

Spacey says. “I’d love to host the Oscars. We can start a campaign on Twitter right now.”
