TV Shows I Love

I thought it would be good to have a post about my favorite TV Shows, which I have loved for years now and still watch over and over again. Yes they still make me happy and make me smile (and probably the odd episode makes me cry). There is not many shows that I really love and watch over and over. I can only think of 4 which fit into this category.

Sex and the City

It has been my ultimate favorite for so long now, I used to watch it every night as it was on paramount comedy over and over. From series 1 to 6 and when it was done, it used to start over again. With the addition of the movie and then the second movie which is due to start filming soon, this is just an obsession of mine that will never get old and go away. I appreciate SATC so much, I adore Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda a lot. I see different parts of each of them in myself and I am sure most other women do too. It it obviously is about one of my favorite things . . . sex, haha. But the friendships that is in the movie are just so fantastic as well I love it. I hope the friends I have now are my Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda . . . as believe it or not they are quite similar to them and myself with Carrie, I even have my own version of Mr Big. Yes it is all going to be heartache in that department.

The Golden Girls

“Thank you for being a friend” is the theme song to this show and its just such a nice theme song to have. I think when everyone reaches the stage of there lives which the Golden Girls are in, they will be saying thank you for being a friend to the people who are still around them, as I am assuming that it will more than likely be your friends. A group of retired women living together, who would really have thought it would have been a massive hit? But it really was in the 80’s. Yes I am too young to know it from the first time around, but I love it a lot and used to watch it when ever it was on and even set it to record. I adore how funny it is, and possibly SATC girls when they are older?

Friends

The ultimate favorite of the 90’s and it will always be one of my favorites. I still watch it when ever it is on to this day (which is like every day, on some channel, haha). I just do not find myself getting bored of “Friends” like ever. Its still funny no matter how many times you have seen the one where . . . I grew up with the friends guys and it was very sad when they decided to call it a day and the series was over. I think it could have still lasted a few more seasons. I wouldn’t say no to a movie version even if it does not sound the best idea in the world, but who cares it would still be amazing its friends.

Will & Grace

A guy gay and a straight girl who pretty much go on like a married couple, throw in another gay guy who is very camp and a woman with a high pitched squeaky voice and your onto a winner! Karen and Jack are probably the real stars of Will and Grace. They are so hilarious together and just make you laugh so much with the stupid things they say and do throughout the series. They defiantly provide my favorite moments in the show. The guest appearances on this were fantastic as well, Michael Douglas episode is my all time favorite.

Broadway: Wicked Review

This has been an obsession of mine for quite a while now, and I am so glad that I have eventually seen it and that it was on Broadway !!!

Cast

Nicole Parker as Elphaba

 Alli Mauzey as Glinda

Rondi Reed, Madame Morrible
Kevin Kern, Fiyero
Brynn O’Malley, Nessarose
Alex Brightman, Boq
Timothy Britten Parker, Doctor Dillamond
P.J. Benjamin, The Wizard

It is a show which really does have everything, drama, romance, comedy and pretty much life. At so many points and moments in the show I related with how a character was feeling as I either feel like that now or have felt like that in the past about someone or something that has happened. I found it a very emotional experience and felt myself wanting to cry in parts, but then laughing. The friendship which came about after so much hatred between the two. So many twists and turns throughout the show, one of which I had no idea of from listening to the soundtrack over and over. But I know like that I have pieced together the full story from seeing the show.

I think the biggest show stopping moment is “defying gravity”. Which takes place at the end of the first act, just before the interval and it really is just incredible and fantastic.

Coming second to “Defying Gravity” in favorite songs from this musical (yes I love them all but have favorites, haha) as to be “As Long As Your Mine” the love song between Elphaba and Fiyero. Its just incredible, two people that you would never put together have fallen in love. Its quite a dark love song in terms of how love songs are in other musicals, but it is so lovely. “Just for this moment, as long as your mine . . . say theres no future for us as a pair . . . ” they both know that it will be difficult for them to be together forever, so they are happy just for this moment, as long as they are together. I find that so refreshing in entertainment where in movies and musicals the whole happily ever after, forever and ever thing going on.

The main story is focused on before Dorothy came to Oz. Although towards the end it kind of overlaps a little bit. But all of the characters are in there and I think its just fantastic how it all fits together so well. Just little details that have been put together, to make everything flow so well. I had attempted to read the book “Wicked” two years ago now. But I never really got into it, however I really do think that I will get it more now and understand more having a background to the story.

I now want the movie version to be made even more than I did before. I also want to see the show again, yes I did say this is an obsession of mine. “Everyone deserves a chance to fly!” I think everyone should go and see Wicked.

News: Bridget Jones Is Back

I really do think this is fantastic news. I am such a huge fan of Bridget Jones, I would love it if that means a third book will come out as well. As the books are so good too.

Bridget Jones is back – Renee Zellweger has signed on to appear in a third film about the hapless diary-keeper.

The first film in 2001 grossed $282 million (£188 million) worldwide, while the 2004 sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, raked in $262 million (£175 million).

And bosses at British studio Working Title have decided it is time for Zellweger to return to the role of the beloved Brit to round out the trilogy.

It is thought the new film will concentrate on Jones’ quest to have a baby in her 40s.

Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are expected to return, according to reports.
