Officially Christmas?

Well yesterday I went to Starbucks (yes I have an obsession with Starbucks) and the Christmas Cups came out yesterday.  Now incase you do not know what I mean the Christmas cups are red and Christmas style drinks are out. Yesterday I had a Dark Cherry Mocha which is on the Christmas menu.

And because I am extremly sad I took a picture . . .

So does this mean that I can therefore begin to watch Christmas movies and review and make lists etc? Or shall I wait until Decemeber hits? Views?

Remember, Remember the 5th of November . . .

Yes it is that day of the year again of which in the UK we celebrate Bonfire Night. In remembrance of the plot Guy Fawkes was involved in to attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London. This was way back in 1605 and it has still not been forgot!

“Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of* no reason
Why the Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t’was his intent
To blow up the King and Parli’ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England’s overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d (or by God’s mercy*)
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring. (Holla*)
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

So each year across the country people have bonfire’s and fireworks in memory of the attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliment with Gunpowder. Some people make Guy’s as well and ask penny for the guy, his eventual fate being burnt on the Bonfire. This all really has become such a tradition it really is just something else.

I can always remember it being a made a massive deal of when at primary school, and we even had fireworks displays in the broad daylight on that day at school. Of which you could not really see the fireworks, but we used to pretend that we could, haha.

I am really looking forward to seeing the fireworks and hearing them from when it gets dark tonight, and looking forward to the party I am having tomorrow night with fireworks. While no fireworks are really going to beat the 4th of July display I saw in Boston this year, tonight is just different.

So, how do you celebrate Bonfire Night?

Oscars 2010 – Host’s Martin and Baldwin

Two time host Steve Martin and Academy Award nominee Alec Baldwin are widely being reported of co-hosting the 82nd Annual Academy Awards Ceremony. I think both of these choices will do a very good job of hosting the Oscars. Giving it a different spin to how Hugh Jackman hosted this years ceremony. Steve Martin having hosted twice before and being very entertaining. Alec Baldwin who is extremly witty as well as funny will bring something different again. I am sure both of these men will bounce very well off one another as well.

What does everyone else think about Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin hosting?
