A faded country music musician Bad Blake is forced to reassess his dysfunctional life during a doomed romance that also inspires him. We first see Bad struggling from town to town playing in small venues the first being a run down bowling alley.

Possibly the most predictable Oscars in recent times. But what was the show like? Well I thoroughly enjoyed it last year and that was because of host Hugh Jackman and some changes made to the show. I had also seen most of the nominated films and was much Team Rourke thinking we were going to see Mickey win for his role in “The Wrestler” a film I really loved. But that didn’t happen and then the very overrated Slumdog took the big prize, I pretty much fell out of love with the Oscars.
After Oscar success this year “The Hurt Locker” has a new poster with the Oscar’s it won. I think this is for the Australian release.

My thoughts and opinions on the Oscar’s will be coming in the next couple of days when I manage to finish watching the ceremony. So I decided to search for pictures of the winners, my favorite actors and actresses along with pictures of the winners.

I received an email a few days ago with information about winning the chance to attend the 2010 Empire Film Awards.
“Citroën is giving one lucky film fan the chance to attend this prestigious event. The prize is a pair of tickets (the winner and a friend) to attend the exclusive awards ceremony, schmooze with guests at the VIP after-party and then crash down in a nearby luxury London hotel with complimentary breakfast for the morning after.”
It really is a fantastic prize for any film fan out there, the awards are usually very good and honor films which tend to get missed from all the other awards shows as the fans vote for their favorites of the past year.

Today’s quote comes from Benjamin Button . . . quite funny that it was a year ago this week that I went out to America where I stayed for 5 and a half months. I felt this way when I came home and still feel it now . . .
“Its funny about coming home, looks the same, smells the same, feels the same, you’ll realize what’s changed is you.”
I am afraid this is going to be my last Oscars 2010 post until some red carpet pictures and the results and my opinions on who one, how the show went and the hosts Steve Martin and my man of the moment Alec Baldwin. As I cannot as originally planned stay up to watch he ceremony. 😦
Another downside to this years Oscars, I have not managed to see many of the nominated films. Some still have not appeared in my local cinema which has been so disappointing! My predictions therefore have to be based on what I have heard about some of films and performances (and where the other awards shows have gone to).
Today’s quote comes from Oscar nominated “Up in the Air” which would be my choice of best picture and best actor . . . but I cannot see that happening tonight at the Oscars. Great quote ❤
“How much does your life weigh? Imagine for a second that you’re carrying a backpack. I want you to pack it with all the stuff that you have in your life… you start with the little things. The shelves, the drawers, the knickknacks, then you start adding larger stuff. Clothes, tabletop appliances, lamps, your TV… the backpack should be getting pretty heavy now. You go bigger. Your couch, your car, your home… I want you to stuff it all into that backpack. Now I want you to fill it with people. Start with casual acquaintances, friends of friends, folks around the office… and then you move into the people you trust with your most intimate secrets. Your brothers, your sisters, your children, your parents and finally your husband, your wife, your boyfriend, your girlfriend. You get them into that backpack, feel the weight of that bag. Make no mistake your relationships are the heaviest components in your life. All those negotiations and arguments and secrets, the compromises. The slower we move the faster we die. Make no mistake, moving is living. Some animals were meant to carry each other to live symbiotically over a lifetime. Star crossed lovers, monogamous swans. We are not swans. We are sharks”
