New Layout at the Movies!

In what can only be described as a random moment this morning I decided to change the layout of the blog. While I have not by any means completely sorted it all out yet, I am impressed with some of the extra’s I can use with this layout. So onwards and upwards for Let’s Go To The Movies.

What do you think of the new layout?

Cowboys & Aliens (2011) Daniel Craig

Well it seems that I must have nothing something good recently and getting my reward in the form of Daniel Craig news and now a picture from next year’s film Cowboys & Aliens. He does look very Indiana Jones like in this picture. I am having Daniel Craig overload (again) which is actually brilliant. Especially when Quantum of Solace was on TV the other night and I just had to watch it. I am starting to think I should have a Daniel Craig film night, I do have a lot of his films on DVD! Maybe even a Daniel Craig blog-fest, well that ship may have already sailed with the amount of posts about Daniel being a few in as many days!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) – Casting Lisbeth Salander

Daniel Craig has been confirmed as Mikael Bromkvist in the Hollywood version of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” and now the attention will be turning to who will play the part of Lisabeth Salander! And this is exactly what this blog post is going to have a look into, who has already been linked with the part and who would be the best choice. All of the actresses who have been linked with the role are young and have quite a lot of critical acclaim towards them. However, for each actress that I will be looking at for the role none of them have ever played a character anything like Salander. I’m not saying that Salander is common by no means, she is a very complex character tough, rather kick ass and has an attitude. When you see the actresses considered for the role you will understand that they have not done that type of role which makes this all so much more difficult to try and imagine them being a very strong woman. Who has to endure a lot but then gets to have her revenge as well. It is going to be a very difficult and challenging role for whoever is lucky enough to get the part!

Noomi Rapace who took on the task of Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish version’s of the triology has ruled herself out of this film stating that she is quite simply done with the character. Understandable really as she won’t have enough ‘star power’ for a mainstream film which will attract the audiences.

Orlando Bloom – Married and going to be a Father!!!

Well it eventually happened one of my most favorite men ever is married and going to be a father, all this has been announced in the past week!!! Unfortunately he did not get to meet me and marry me etc! Like i’ve wanted since seeing fellowship of the ring in 2001 and first setting my eyes on Legolas. Thus began many years of total lust, which may long continue nothing can ever stop that, haha. Anyway I guess I have to say congratulations to Orlando on the news that he is going to be a father, one thing is for sure his child will be gorgeous!

Never Let Me Go (2010) Trailer & Poster

The first poster has just been released for Never Let Me Go. With Carey Mulligan heading the film this has got me excited to see how she does after the success she had in “An Education” which I really loved. From the trailer it does look interesting. However, at the moment no UK release date has been announced and the only date I could find was for a limited release in the US in September. I guess I will have to keep an eye out for release dates.

My Sister’s Keeper (2009) Review

Anna Fitzgerald looks to earn medical emancipation from her parents who until now have relied on their youngest child to help their leukemia-stricken daughter Kate stay alive. We are taken on a very emotional journey with the family who have dealt with Kate having leukemia since she was 2 years old. The story is told in flashbacks to all the different things which happened over the years, this is when Anna has taken her mother to court.

First Blu Ray DVD Bought!

Yesterday saw the release of ‘Remember Me’ which I really enjoyed at the cinema. It actually helped show that Robert Pattinson can indeeed act as well which was a bonus. I headed to HMV to buy the DVD (it is very rare that I buy a DVD on release date now). But when I was standing looking at it, the Blu Ray version was only £5 more than the normal DVD, with the Blu Ray containing a normal DVD as well. So I went ahead and bought my first Blu Ray DVD – now all I need is a Blu Ray player . . .

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) – Daniel Craig Cast

The latest news about the Hollywood remake of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” are that Daniel Craig has been cast in the lead role as Mikael Blomkvist. This comes as very exciting news as with another Bond film looking very unlikely any new role for Daniel is good news for me. I have been such a big fan of his for a few years now.

David Fincher has signed on to direct the trilogy of films. My task now is to read all of the books, which I have had for months now, actually I have owned The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for a few years now since it’s release but have not read it all. After reading that book, I shall definitely watch the Swedish version before this film comes out. At least I have a year and a half before this film is due for release.

Anyone have any opinions on the book, first film and/or this remake? Especially the casting of Daniel Craig?

I shall be posting more in relation to this film/book franchise as I get into reading them.
