The latest news about the Hollywood remake of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” are that Daniel Craig has been cast in the lead role as Mikael Blomkvist. This comes as very exciting news as with another Bond film looking very unlikely any new role for Daniel is good news for me. I have been such a big fan of his for a few years now.
David Fincher has signed on to direct the trilogy of films. My task now is to read all of the books, which I have had for months now, actually I have owned The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo for a few years now since it’s release but have not read it all. After reading that book, I shall definitely watch the Swedish version before this film comes out. At least I have a year and a half before this film is due for release.
Anyone have any opinions on the book, first film and/or this remake? Especially the casting of Daniel Craig?
I shall be posting more in relation to this film/book franchise as I get into reading them.
Let's Go To The Movies 
At first I was glad to see Craig in something new and different since the Bond series is on perpetual hold. But the more I think about this I’m not wild about it because why put someone so high profile in a film like this when they really are far from the main focus of the film.
It’s pretty much Lisbeth’s trilogy, and if they cast Craig (who is the main draw right now), they would probably have to cast someone even more noteworthy and amazing for the part of Lisbeth. Just my opinion there. Still jazzed about Craig though:)

Good points Marc, I am now 160 pages into the book (and finding it very interesting so far). I guess we will have to wait and see which actress is given the role of Lisbeth. As you said it is going to have to be someone noteworthy.
I am sure we will still have a little while longer yet to wait.

I think, maybe just because she’s pretty popular right now, Zoe Saldana might not do half bad…of course I’ve never seen he play crazy so who knows. For her, it might be a career-defining role.
