MTV Movie Awards 2011 – Winners

As these awards are voted for my the public I think it is pretty easy to guess who is going to win in each category. This year was dominated by The Twilight Saga, which I am pretty sure it has been for the last couple of years now.

BEST MOVIE WINNER

Last Night (2010) Review

The film spans over 24 hours when married couple Joanna and Michael are apart for the night. He is away on a business trip with the female colleague which caused an argument with Jo the night before. A surprise is in store for Jo when an old flame turns up in New York.

Harry Potter Blogathon – A Celebration

As everyone has probably noticed I have been going rather crazy on the Harry Potter posts, getting caught up with the film reviews and posting the new posters coming out of the Deathly Hallows. I have almost finished reading all of the books (for the very first time) and utterly spellbound by them. I thought it would be appropriate as the time is approaching for the end of the film series, that a blogathon would be a good idea.

If you have any Harry Potter related posts you would like to link from my blog, just let me know. By commenting or email. I think we should all celebrate how incredible the Harry Potter series has been for film. We will have this going on from now until 15th August. Giving plenty of time after the July 15th release of the final film.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) Trailer

I actually watched a trailer last week for this film and thought it was a fan made one, turns out it was the red band trailer as well. This green band trailer is not much different, just some nudity and more violent scenes cut out.

In all honesty though I am really not too fused on this trailer at all, I think the music is too much and so many different clips are shown. I’ve read the book so have more of an idea what is going on, but what about the audience who haven’t read the book or heard about them. (Which I would have thought would be a lot) – The trailer doesn’t really tell them anything about the film. I’m assuming another trailer will be released as well, building on this one? Well I hope so!

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) Poster

Just when I thought no poster would get me excited like the constant release of Harry Potter posters, the first posters are released for ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’. I was a very big fan of the book (and have the Swedish version on DVD to watch). Very curious how they are going to do this film with the subject matters and it being so mainstream. Plus I do love Daniel Craig!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II (2011) Poster – Bellatrix

Next up for their very own character poster is Helena Bonham Carter as the deranged Bellatrix Lestrange.

Marilyn Monroe – 85 Today!

Marilyn Monroe would be celebrating her 85th birthday today if she was still with us! Her legend will live on forever, especially through her fantastic life/love/men quotes. Truly a misunderstood woman who is still (and rightly so) such an icon. RIP Norma Jean and Happy Birthday!

MTV Movie Awards 2011 – Nominations

The MTV Movie awards is taking place on Monday night and you can currently go and vote for your favorite actors/films to win the awards . . . vote here

Some of the categories are very different to the normal ones we see at all of the awards shows. Let’s face it these movie awards are more relaxed and focus on the films people have enjoyed going to see at the cinema over the previous year.
