DC Universe – Will it be able to rival Marvel?

It has eventually started to happen, well actually DC started the universe back in 2013 with Man of Steel but in all honesty I didn’t realise that at the time. I mean come on we had a failed Superman attempt years before that with the awful Superman Returns. So another Superman attempt wasn’t a big thing. Well actually it turns out it was a huge thing!

From next year 2016, DC have slated in 10 films to release in four years. Now that really is making a statement and giving the audience a lot of new characters. Although some characters we may have seen in the past but I am very interested to see how it is all going to play out. Over the weekend because of the incredible Comic Con, Warner Brothers have spoilt us with two incredible trailers for next year’s releases. Those being Batman v Superman and The Suicide Squad.

So please can you visit to the following link and vote for my entry (Caroline Ames) – hotel direct competition

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Trailer

Yes I am sorry everyone is blogging this trailer and tweeting it, but I just had to also blog about it too! It looks incredible and has really built up a lot of excitement for myself around this film. I had not been massively sure about it before seeing this trailer in all honesty, it just fills in some gaps about why Batman and Superman are against each other.

What is not to like and love about this trailer, it is epic. We get to see Wonder Woman as well, she is going to be a massive plus for DC Comics. A proper woman superhero who I hope will get a lot of plaudits and be the first to do well in any of the franchises.

Ted 2 (2015) Review

Ted has gotten married to the love of his life Tami-Lynn but a year later they are fighting and arguing all the time. They decide the way to fix this was to have a baby. Yes you can work out the main problem with that, but after trying to then adopt it is brought to the attention that Ted is not actually recognised as a person.

RIP Omar Sharif

I had to pay respect to the actor following his death a few days ago. He is in a film that means a lot to me Mrs ‘Arris Goes to Paris, I bet hardly anyone has even heard of it!

London Weekend – 3rd-6th July 2015

I had been looking forward to this trip down to London for months and months now. I managed to get a ticket for AC/DC at Wembley Stadium so decided it was best to head down on the Friday and make a full weekend out of it. Plus then managing to fit in a show as well, that turned out to be Broadway transfer The Elephant Man, starring Bradley Cooper.

Friday

Also to do a little bit of shopping, not my favourite pastime but I did manage to get a couple of pretty cool things. One of the first I could not resist as it links so well into my re-obsession with An Affair to Remember.

I guess that started the trip off having a nice little film feel to it, and a lot of what happened after this links very nicely to the movies as well. Hence why I am writing this blog post, have felt very inspired to write many posts recently and hoping that I can keep it up.

Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. – London UK

Here is a very first for Let’s Go To The Movies, a blog post about a restaurant. But have no fear this is very very VERY movie related so do not worry about that. I made my first visit to a Bubba Gump Shrimp Co Restaurant on Friday while in London, this is currently the only one in the UK as well.

Stage Door – Patricia Clarkson

Before the whole craziness of Bradley Cooper coming out the stage, Patricia Clarkson was extremely quick coming out and took time to sign plenty of autographs. Possibly one of those actresses who you recognise, probably because she has had a lot of supporting roles in many different types of films. She was lovely too and posed for some photos as well as a selfie after saying she looked awful! She was brilliant in The Elephant Man.
