“How can you ever smile, as if your life hadn’t capsized?”

Ok so this one from an English Patient may seem like a very strange post on Christmas Eve but I guess it is quite a good time to reflect on life and the previous year which in all honesty 2015 has been nowhere near fantastic. It has had a hell of a lot more lows than highs, and being off work of the past week and a bit has been pretty fantastic in all honesty. It has given me the much needed time to actually see my friends and catch up with them, the only problem is I cannot then do that every year and only be able to see some people properly at Christmas. Although it has given me quite a few days of enjoyment in all honesty, but shouldn’t life have a good balance all year round and not just for a few days or a week?

This certainly does not feel like the case well any of the time in all honesty. Maybe that should be my plan for 2016, I love the thought of keeping it film related as that is something that I use as an escapism from my very dull work filled life in all honesty. They help me switch off and I have made sure to get myself to the cinema, especially on the worst of days. I am sure a lot of people reading this will do the same with film and that is something that really aids to the enjoyment factor at times. It helps you forget about all of your problems and issues for a few hours, that really is something that each and everyone of us need now. Lifting your head up from your phone and taking something in, entertainment, art call it what you will but it helps. Trust me.

2015 at the Theatre

In 2015 I managed to catch a record breaking 20 musicals and plays on stage in both the North East (Sunderland Empire or Theatre Newcastle) as well as trips to London to see them in the West End. You can read through the normal list 2015 Theatre. This number was certainly boosted by the Wicked UK Tour visiting Sunderland which I just had to go and see more than once, three times to be exact. This was also down to getting some fantastic deals with ATG Theatre Card, as for less popular touring shows at the Sunderland Empire I do get some discounts. This is nice and means you can buy last minute tickets for some shows, obviously depending on how popular they are.

The show I mentioned in my 2014 at the Theatre you know just the small one starring Imelda Staunton . . . Gypsy I went to see twice in London! Let’s say goodbye to 2015 . . .

Star Wars – Darth Vader

Carrying on from the Chewie post . . . This answers your question on the other Star Wars bear I picked up in the two for £30 offer. Although it does work out quite a lot more than that adding the sounds and other accessories. But you will see soon why I had to get something else to go with this one! Again a chance to pick sounds, I opted for two in this one felt that I just had to have not only his heavy breathing but also his theme music. I mean come on it really wouldn’t have been the same without them would it?!?

Star Wars – Chewie

With my new-found Star Wars love I couldn’t help totally jumping on the bandwagon and then buying some merchandise. The stuff I opted for was from Build-A-Bear, you know where they stuff them right in front of you and you can pick everything about them placing sounds inside and plenty of different outfit choices available which also means the price does very quickly increase! I have seen a few times now that Build-A-Bear has had different bears relating to films, you can still pick up the three minions along with a dragon (How to Train Your Dragon) and now you can get Star Wars “bears” which are more expensive than the others at £27 each!

Star Wars – Stormtrooper 3D Glasses

It’s very rare now that I seem to come across the limited edition and special film related 3D glasses. I do still have my Harry Potter ones from when the final film came out, and I still wear them to this day. But last week when I went to see the new Star Wars film at a Vue Cinema something happened and they had these glasses. Even though I did not see the film in 3D I just had to buy them to add to my collection, ok when I saw collection I mean to the Harry Potter glasses as the possible start of a collection!

Bondathon: Bond in Motion (Cars of Spectre)

Back in July 2014 I first went to the Bond in Motion exhibition at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden. You can read about it here. But after completing my Bondathon and eventually catching up with a lot of the films I decided to take another trip to the Film Museum on Wednesday. They had also added the Cars of Spectre to it along with some of the costumes, so I decided that another trip would be a very good idea.
