Will Freeman was a cynical and immature man who is taught how to be a grown up by a young boy named Marcus. For the chance meeting to take place Will had been to single parent groups pretending to have a son in order to meet women.

Ron Stallworth is an African-American police officer in Colorado Springs and he managed to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan branch with the help of Flip Zimmerman a fellow police officer who just happens to be Jewish. The pair being posing as the same man Ron, manage to become the leader of the branch. This film is based on actual events.

Something very positive from 2018 was how many fantastic roles in film we had for women, this list was extremely difficult to put together this year as I certainly had a lot to choose from! That can obviously only be a very good thing in my opinion.
Here are the 25 performances that made it onto my list . . .
This is supposed to be a comedy and funny take on Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson and the mysteries they solve together especially around Moriarty.

A very tough list to put together as it is really hard to narrow it down to 25 performances. I have somehow managed and the order could so easily be interchangeable between different performance types. But here are the 25 male performances that impressed me the most in films from 2018 that I managed to watch over the course of the year.

Colette is pushed by her husband Willy to write a novel when the pair come on tough times, passing it off as his own and basking in the success. When she eventually wants recognition it does not work out as easily as she had planned.

Sometimes the hype surrounding a film can build it up so much that you are therefore left disappointed. Which is why I like to put this list together, I mean the disappointment might even be from yourself building the film up as you are excited to see it! Which I guess happens mainly with sequels now.
So check out the films that left me the most disappointed in 2018 . . .
Some films you manage to see without much build up or expectation and you end up very surprised. I guess this is how we manage to find hidden gems and one of the main reasons to keep your options open and give different genres a chance.
It was quite tough to put my list down to only seven films but here are the final ones . . .
