Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022) Review

While mourning the death of King T’Challa the people of Wakanda must fight to protect their home and everything they have built, when they are blamed for some attacks which just happen to be coming from different powers in the world that no one knows about yet!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Queen Ramonda must rely on her daughter Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye and Dora Milaje to lead the fighting to protect the kingdom of Wakanda from the world powers following the death of the King. Other countries see this as the perfect opportunity to take away power from Wakanda and use it for their own self gain. Blue people and a fish-man are what quickly become a threat, but when the US government don’t have any video of the attacks on a ship that saw all of the crew killed they just believe that it was Wakanda striking an attack on them to stop.

The unknown surrounding this was something that made it rather interesting as we are given more characters, a new world and a very strange and different backstory. That of Namor and the world his people had built under the sea after their ancestors had taken something to survive and that changed everything about the way they had to live.

This was then when parts of the film were a little bit difficult in my opinion, as underwater scenes just aren’t the best at all. That was something that Aquaman highlighted as being difficult as it just looks very strange and weird. That was the same in this film and I cannot really explain fully to how or why it doesn’t work but it just ends up looking strange. I hope others feel this way as well or what I am saying just then doesn’t make sense.

Wakanda Forever was a fitting tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman and it really had so many flashback moments that made it so perfect in that manner. Having him all over the Marvel opening was certainly tugging at the heartstrings. Different scenes really hit differently knowing how tragic the death of the actor was and you cannot help but think that no acting was required at times as they mourn the actor as well as the character within the film.

Letitia Wright is utterly outstanding from start to finish in the film really showing some truly inspirational character development for Shuri which I am sure everyone will enjoy. It really does become her film and dealing with the loss and grief factors then moving onto having to support her country and people in it. Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira are utterly fantastic in support along with Winston Duke who is a total scene stealer. Not forgetting newcomer to the Marvel universe Dominique Thorne.

It really is another good Marvel outing and I cannot help but think that this is a very progressive step forward, seriously though so many incredible female characters in one film is the ultimate dream in this genre!
