I cannot help but get sucked into the Cheesy Christmas Film genre, yes I am totally having it as a separate genre to all other films as they really are something totally different. This one is straight to Paramount+ in the UK. The clever title that is a play on the classic and much loved Planes, Trains and Automobiles is totally the reason I decided to give this one a try.

Unfortunately it was not as I expected which was that they were going to have a similar adventure and travel trek like the classic film, instead the flights are cancelled, the trains are cancelled so they just stay in a small town which just happened to be Brett’s hometown where he had not been back to for years. This then had some tense moments as he ended up reconnecting with his family. Then Kayley for whatever reason despite having just met Brett at the airport then becomes close to his family and him as a matter of fact.

The plot was very very thin and therefore quickly lost any sense from the first moment of panic in the airport, although the terrible drama was something that had me wanting to still stick with it all. I mean we all know how they are going to end up with the two leading characters falling in love but you hope the journey to that point will be decent. This does have some classic Christmas moments involved with a child visiting Santa and the build up to an event. I guess Brett and Kayley are both ok and it is clear that they needed each other in order to see that they weren’t actually all that happy with the direction their lives were heading in.

It has a lot of cheesy moments combined with the terrible acting, but that is part of the charm of watching this type of film isn’t it? Well, I certainly think so!
