Having eventually had the pleasure of seeing Casablanca on the big screen at the cinema in celebration of the films 80th Anniversary was just not quite enough for this year, and I was lucky enough to get this truly incredible collectors edition of the brand new 4K UHD which just so happens to come in a steelbook case inside the box.
Along with the steelbook which is truly beautiful I must add, a copy of the film instead in 4K and on Blu Ray with a third disc for the special features (which is the reason that this has a 15 rating). Along with the discs the collection also has a poster, which is double sided, postcards with production shots from the film and then more postcard size cards which have details from different props and sets which are part of the film. A book with a lot of information in about the film and then my favourite the copy of the letter of transit!
The beauty of this special edition is one of the reasons that I just adore still collection physical media when it comes to films and it is something that I will continue to do when my favourite ever films are upgraded like this and honoured so many years later. Seriously this is so very much worth every single penny and quite frankly isn’t it outstanding that a film receives this special treatment when it’s 80 years old!
