The life story of Griselda Blanco a Colombian drug lord who reportedly was the mastermind behind more than 200 murders. Capturing her life from being a young girl and not having much hope of a good life at all.
⭐️⭐️
At the age of only 17 she made her way to the US on a fake passport with her first husband Carlos, when living in Queens with her three sons she became enticed by the money the drug world could offer and that they would all have a much better life. She had to fight throughout her entire life and saw the drug world as a way to have money and stature, although quite frankly is that ever a good thing?
She was very kick ass and would not stand for the mistreatment from her husband, especially considering she was abused as a child and never protected by her mother. She wanted a better life for herself and for her boys. It wasn’t long before she was using her skills to have so many people involved in what would become a drug empire and somewhat family business.
This is a made for TV movie and I think at times you can fully see that it is, I have wanted to see it since it’s release given that Catherine Zeta Jones is one of my favourite actresses around and this looked as though it was a very different type of role. Although I have seen a lot of controversy surrounding her casting. She fully goes all in with the performance though and you cannot fault the efforts that were made from start to finish.
Despite that I did find it slow going and rather tough to get through, I almost gave up a few times but kept going. You can watch the film on Paramount+ in the UK and I do believe this is the first opportunity we have had to watch Cocaine Godmother.
