Everything seems to be going well for Adonis as his family life and career post boxing is thriving but when his childhood friend Damian Anderson returns from being in prison everything would be pushed to the limits when he’s forced to revisit his past.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Creed III takes a slightly different direction to the previous Creed films as well as the Rocky films and is the first not to have the legendary character in it, I mean I guess that was a very big miss right? Well, I certainly thought so in all honesty.
Adonis has moved on from boxing and in his retirement focusing on his gym set up as well as becoming a manager for fighters and attempting to arrange world title fights. When Dam returns which feels like from the dead everything will be put into a different light. As he battles with events from the past and feels responsible for the reason Dam ended up in prison. He had a very good shot at being a top boxer and in one fateful night that was all taken away.
The different events which occur throughout the film are all extremely obvious and that is the main reason for giving the film a three star rating, rather than the four stars I had given the previous two. I really did want to love the film and it just lacked the spark of the previous ones which was a shame overall. The character of Adonis is likeable enough but let’s face it he is no Rocky.
I felt as though we needed a little bit more of a filler between the two fights as just seemed to happen very quickly and it could have had more build up with it all. Especially considering it was supposed to be three years since Adonis had his last fight.
Michael B. Jordan took on his first director role for this film as well as starring in it and I think that really does highlight the passion he does have for this franchise. Jonathan Majors is good enough as well as Damian and you aren’t really sure whether to actually root for him or not!
