Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) Review

Miles Morales is about to explore more of the Mulitverse when he sees it as a goal to join the team of Spider-People who are protecting its very existence, but is he a help or a hinderance?

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

18 months after we last saw Miles dealing with becoming Spider-Man in his universe, we see that he is still struggle to balance that hero behaviour with attending school and being a good son for his parents. This balance is always a very difficult phase for any Spider-Man as we have seen over the years! He is also pining for Gwen with the friendship they developed.

As it turned out she felt the same way towards Miles and she has been struggling within her universe. Being accused of killing her best friend Peter, by her own father as it turned out with him being in the police. Can she actually come clean and tell him the truth about her double life or will he not understand at all?

With the Multiverse becoming huge in terms of the different Earth’s that we get to see also opens up so many more new characters. Including Spider-Woman and Spider-Man 2099 who become key characters in the plot. Who are really trying to protect the Spider-Verse and who is actually just power hungry to be the ultimate Spider-Person?

I was utterly blown away by into the spider-verse so was extremely excited for the release of this film, managed to see it on the SuperScreen at Cineworld and so pleased I did as wow it is a truly stunning film. The vast use of colours across so many different scenes as well as the comic book feeling of the way it looks at times as well. That is a very impressive aspect and that makes the animation within the series look so unique and quite frankly outstanding.

Not forgetting that they managed to have over 1000 people working on the film and again that is just truly an incredible stat! Which is the largest crew that have ever worked on an animated film. I guess it has more than paid off with the finished film.

The plot has plenty of twists and turns throughout and quite frankly talking about much of that would be considered a spoiler. Even with the 140 minute running time I found myself rather shocked with how it ended and waiting for the third part as it was just getting going in some ways! I am sure many people will be much more aware about that though.

Stunning. Outstanding. Breathtaking.
