Red, White & Royal Blue (2023) Review

A feud between Alex Claremont-Diaz the son of the American President and Prince Henry part of the British monarchy gains international media attention due to an incident, they must work together in order to repair the American/British relationship but it was never going to be that simple.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It certainly was not simple at al when Alex had a dislike for the Prince and held it against him from the first time they met. When they were forced together at the wedding of Henry’s older brother disaster was about to strike when they ended up bringing the massive cake to the floor along with themselves causing a huge scene.

Naturally given the current obsession over social media it went viral online and damage limitation had to be put in place and a “friendship” meeting between the pair was arranged with Alex heading back to England. Everything was about to take some different turns as they actually began to strike up quite the friendship.

That friendship would then go a step further and become a rather intense romance, starting with a New Years kiss. Although Prince Henry being scared of everything that could come from being a gay member of the Royal Family attempts on a few occasions to push Alex away from him.

Everything about the film is just so lovely and done in a really nice manner and can be held in a high regard with other romantic comedies. A rather bold move to give Prince Henry a very familiar younger Prince William look, and I couldn’t help but find the I’m actually the spare quote to be extremely amusing. It had plenty of passion to go along with the comedy and also the compassion of coming out and being true to yourself regardless of what other people will think.

Can I also just say a massive well done for whoever was in charge of casting and has Uma Thurman as President, I truly salute that decision. She was given some fantastic scenes as well not only as the President but as an understanding mother. Taylor Zachary Perez and Nicholas Galitzine both carry the film very well going from hate to love, isn’t that a standard for who you just might fall for? Then not forgetting a cameo from Stephen Fry, delivering lines that he will 100% not agree with at all was another stroke of genius!

An Amazon Original film that really is worth your time.
