M3gan (2023) Review

Gemma a robotics engineer at a leading toy company builds a life like doll and uses it on her niece Cady who’s parents died in a car crash, at first M3gan seems to be perfect but she is evolving quickly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Gemma is very focused on her work and it’s all she has going on in her life to be brutally honest. When she becomes the guardian of Cady she really does not know how she is going to cope with her demanding and unsympathetic boss David needing her tech to be ready on the new toy.

That toy is M3gan who is to be paired with a child to help with raising them. Which I guess worked out well as a tester for it although when Cady becomes extremely reliant on the doll and strange things begin to happen to those around them it really does have Gemma wondering if she has made a mistake.

With a lot of talk about AI, I guess M3gan turns into the ultimate nightmare, being able to download information all all topics and have an understanding of different aspects of the world is certainly a scary tool. Although she quickly begins to think for herself and everything she does is what she believes is right for Cady.

I missed seeing this film at the cinema as quite frankly I wasn’t sure about it at all, however I am very pleased to say that I utterly enjoyed it and caught up watching it on Sky Cinema. It really does offer a rather interesting take on robot dolls that look real, while also having a good story at its core. Also one scene in particular made me really laugh out loud, sorry David.

Allison Williams and Violet McGraw both carried the film very impressively and well from start to finish.

  1. Thanks for the review on this one, I’m glad to see you praise it. I’m looking forward to seeing it when daughter #3 can get over to watching it with me. She’s my horror movie buddy and the only one in the family that likes the genre and is old enough to watch them. She’s still mad at me because after we went to see IT, as I got in the car I jumped out screaming “clown” and I’ve never seen someone bolt so quickly.

    1. It really was a little surprise package for me, I’m not the biggest on horror but decided to give it a go and pleased I did.

That is certainly a typical Dad thing to do after a horror film! 😂😂
