Willa and Bill are ex-lovers who see each other for the first time in many years when they are both snowed in at an airport overnight with delays and cancellations for all flights.

What Happens Later sounds so much better than how it turns out in reality and I am honestly still so sad to have to say that. I mean come on you all know just how much I was really wanting to love this film with Meg Ryan back acting for the first time in eight years, but also having the directing and a co-writer role for it. Surely, that is the best way to highlight something as a passion project?
Willa attempts to actually hide from Bill after spotting him as doesn’t actually want to talk to him, and that does create a rather amusing moment. He has had his own troubles and issues since they parted ways, despite being married and having a daughter it hasn’t and isn’t all happiness for him either.
A very interesting and thought provoking part of the story though is that the perception each has of the other and how they felt it all went down when they broke up. This actually made for some moments of thinking a huge mistake had been made. I mean does everyone at some point wonder what might have been? As well as at one point a line about are we not supposed to be happy?
Despite that small pull, overall it really was just lacking and that was such a shame as Meg Ryan and David Duchovny are both still decent to watch but the chemistry between them wasn’t huge. Surely we needed even a little spark for this film to work?
