Iris is having a tough time following the death of her son and was thinking about committing suicide when a man named Richard convinces her not to, but only so he can try and kill her instead!
⭐️⭐️
Don’t Move really did have a lot of potential to push some boundaries with the subject matter of a serial killer who had a very sadistic method with the women he targetted. Injecting them so their bodies would become paralysed in twenty minutes, totally shutting down.
This is when Iris has a choice to try and fight to stay alive and against it or just give up. Did she really want to actually kill herself or was the grief of her loss just too much at that moment? Richard was very charming as well so we can fully understand just how he managed to get women to trust him. We aren’t given a lot of information on how many women he has killed but it certainly isn’t the first time he has done this.
The tension build up is only at the ok level, and even when we get a ray of hope when farmer Bill shows up when her body is in the woods, that is quickly ripped away. I mean I will give it to the way the story unfolds that we actually do care about what happens to Iris as let’s face it being drugged to then losing full control over your body but still being concious is quite a terrifying situation.
However, the film lacks any real substance in terms of that is pretty much it we don’t get a whole lot of backstory for anything or anyone. The performances are ok from Kelsey Asbille and Finn Wittrock but overall this is going to be a very unmemorable film and something we have grown to expect from Netflix.
