Our Little Secret (2024) Review

Avery and Logan are exes with a very shaky past and are brought back together at Christmas when spending time with the family of their new partners, who just happen to be siblings.

⭐️⭐️

The opening scene shows the rather horrific proposal and instant break up between Avery and Logan, with the latter not being able to cope with her decision to move away and from proposal to insulting her within minutes we are built up with how that all ended. Avery struggling to deal with the death of her mother, flashforward ten years and we see her return home to her father and off to spend time with her boyfriend Cameron’s family.

She was never going to be ready for his mother Erica who really did still treat her son as if he was a child, which is very cringey to watch. Typically she took an instant dislike to Avery and that makes it difficult. Seeing Logan was certainly a shock and she asks him to pretend they don’t know each other, which naturally is going to create a lot of drama going forward.

Then throw in a lot more drama with situations involving other members of the family, as let’s face it that is what is needed in a cheesy christmas film right? Well, nothing is actually a surprise at all and even during the opening scene we already know the ending. Yet we still go through some ridiculously stupid moments which we have grown accustomed to in this type of film.

It’s certainly not one of the worst around, and I felt as though Lindsay Lohan carried it well enough and it’s certainly nice to see her back on track with her acting. Ian Harding was ok alongside her as well. Kristin Chenoweth taking on the crazy mother role is worth it though, right?
