Moana 2 (2024) Review

When Moana receives a very unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors she must journey across the seas into dangerous long lost waters to try and reunite the different islands.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We get to see how Moana had been living and the close bond not only with her family but with everyone on the island, so when she must assemble a crew it go with her on the journey it was always going to be easy to convince them. Although she didn’t realise the full nature of how dangerous it was going to be.

Maui the demi god was having his own problems, not realising that he was part of the bigger picture of getting Moana to his location. We get some nice moments and jokes and it does follow on nicely where the first film left off. The only thing for me is that while the songs are decent enough they aren’t as memorable as the first film.

Something I truly adore though is this style of computer animation as I fully forget that it is actually animated as the characters feel so real with that. I mean why does the whole hair movement still get me, even though we have had many films now in the past decade or so to have done that. Anyway, the story is still nice enough thinking about the ancestors and reuniting the different islands all wondering who else is out there.
