When Alex must revist her childhood aspirations following the death of her mother it places emphasis on being able to get her life back on track.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
When her mother Elizabeth passes away due to cancer everything is about to change for Alex, when she was expecting to be made CEO of the company that her mother jad Rose Cosmetics instead she actually had her job taken away from her. The family home had to stay off the market for a whole year, her siblings are given 20% shares in the company but everything for Alex to get her inheritance depends on whether she can complete some set tasks.
This then leads to a video from her mother explaining what she must do, which is when that life list she wrote as a thirteen year old comes into play. Brad Ackerman was the young lawyer put in charge of the Will and he must check in with Alex and then give her the next video once a task has been completed.
The concept and idea around the whole film of actually making your thirteen year old self proud of completing the list was actualy really nice, even though at times the execution was maybe not the best. I found myself really enjoying it overall though and felt as though the final thing on the list was going to wreck the whole film, but it actually went a massively wholesome route while reminding us all that we should never just settle and should want the best in every situation.
Obviously it contains a lot of cliches but that doesn’t take anything away from the enjoyment. Naturally a sad point has to be towards her brothers who did not have any nice messages or videoes from their mother, who always seemed to favour Alex. Family secrets and would be exposed and having to deal with different situations, but it all meant that you had to try and come to terms with owning your own life.
Sofia Carson was engaging enough in the leading role and the chemistry with Kyle Allen just worked so nicely. A pretty decent Netflix Film in my opinion as we know the majority of them are miss rather than hit.
