Eve is a trained assassin using the traditions of the Ruska Roma organisation but she has always wanked to seek revenge for the death of her father, unaware of her true heritage and past.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
From the opening scene showing Eve’s childhood and the trauma that was left after the murder of her father. She had always wanted to seek revenge for this and find out exactly why he was killed. This therefore sets the whole tone of the film and why she is so driven.
We get to see her intense training programme and how she was pretty much forced into that assassin life by Winston and then by The Director. The cover of being a ballerina was certainly an interesting aspect.
The film has plenty of twists and turns which are pretty obvious at times but that doesn’t take away from the enjoyment. It goes all in and over the top with the action and fight sequences, but again that ridiculous nature was an aspect I really enjoyed. Yes, the flamethrower moments were going that step further!
Ana de Armas isn’t the greatest actress around and they worked to her strengths in this one by not having all that much dialogue, mind that wasn’t just for her in general the film was very action focused. We only get a few scenes with Keanu Reeves as John Wick, which were very good! Ian McShane and Anjelica Huston take turns at being scene stealers and are given some good moments. As if I nearly forgot to mention Gabriel Byrne within that!
