Six months after the rage virus was inflicted on the United Kingdom, the US army attempts to help secure a small area of London for the survivors to start again and rebuild. But it was not going to be as simple as that . . .
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The infected had starved to death and the island was actually declared virus free, the US task force was attempting to set up the colony of survivors on the Isle of Dogs. Don one of the survivors had been working as a caretaker at the safe zone is about to welcome his two children who had been out of the country on a school trip. Tammy and Andy could not take the news about their mother very easily and want to go back to their old childhood home to get a photograph.
On that quest, which actually was against the rules as it meant they had left the safe zone would see the downfall of everything that had been put in place. On going back to the home they found their mother somehow still alive, but not actually infected. Or should that be that she didn’t look infected, in terms of actually being filled with rage and attempting to destroy others. Which takes a little bit of time to be found out, however Don didn’t get the chance to know this when he was infected and immediately begins his attack and quite frankly that was a very gruesome moment which did have me wanting to not watch. Just to clarify I am not massively squeamish, but my biggest thing to try and deal with is anything to do with the eyes and well yes that scene goes that far.
So basically we can count on children/teenagers not to listen to any instructions even when it comes to life and death. As let’s face it if Tammy and Andy had listened to anything then the outbreak would not have happened in that way. It makes for some interesting scenes though, also why is it always creepy when going into a tube station underground? I am convinced the trauma felt over this is to do with one of the Tomb Raider games where a tiger attacks you, anyway that could be just me but I am sticking with it.
I felt as though scenes within this film were more brutal than the first once the virus ran riot again, especially when the orders were to just kill everyone left within that zone after a certain time period. Doyle has more about him than that though and wanted to try and save people leaving his post.
Again this had a fantastic cast set up like the first and created a lot of dramatic moments with you on the edge of your seat. A rather impressive sequel and looking at another aspect of the fallout from the outbreak and the impact that this could then have on the people who were left, both infected and not.
Jeremy Renner, Rose Byrne and Idris Elba had some good scenes. Roberr Carlyle had the most brutal moments and probably loved that type of crazy role. Harold Perrineau was a bit of a scene stealer for me in his smaller role! Imogen Poots and Makintosh Muggleton put in decent performances.
