The Naked Gun (2025) Review

Frank Drebin Jr. is the only man who can lead Police Squad and save the world! With his sharp instincts and quick wit, he tackles challenging cases, often finding effective solutions that prove he is the hero we need.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

When Frank thinks that his singlehanded approach to dispatching a group of bank robbers with a crazy school girl disguise was genius, he actually missed the whole point of the robbery and gets himself into trouble with Police Chief Davis. Which shows us very quickly that he is continuing where his father Frank Drebin Sr left off!

We are given throwbacks to the original film series and this allows for some rather amusing jokes along the way. I have to admit that the coffee cups being given throughout were an aspect that I found very amusing. We then get up to date issues, the self-driving electric car a full reminder that we are in 2025.

Richard Cane is quickly linked to the different events that have been occuring, but due to treating Frank in a nice way he then becomes rather oblivious to some of his actions, I mean they did bond over the Black Eyed Peas and he donated the self-driving electric car to Police Squad. So could he really be that bad guy?

I have to admit that my expectations for this film were very low, and quite frankly a silly comedy is something that we don’t actually get that much of anymore. I was actually surprised with how funny I found it from start to finish, I loved the references to pop culture and thought it all just worked so very well. It certainly seemed to hit my age range for that, and the Sex and the City quote was my favourite.

Liam Neeson is such a joy in the role and I fully believe that is because we are not used to comedy from him at all, which I found to be rather inspired casting as it could have gone horribly wrong. Pamela Anderson having a career revival is something I truly support and she nailed it. Danny Huston is rather typecast in that bad guy role, but let’s face it he does it so very well.
