Heads of State is the exact action comedy film you will expect, it doesn’t break any records or offer anything of a surprise. If though this is the type of film you enjoy, then do just that. Especially with it being a straight to streaming film, in this case Prime Video you just understand the quality level before even watching.
Will Derringer is a former action movie star who was a newly elected US President, yeah I know they went that way with John Cena. Naturally Sam Clarke does not like this and a public argument between the pair happens in front of the press. This happened ahead of the next NATO summit, and for a daft reason they are convinced to travel together on Air Force One to provide a present united front to the world.
Naturally we can easily guess what is going to happen next, the terrorists led by Gradov target the plane and the two men must now get on to survive. This allows for plenty of fighting scenes, attempted comedy betwen the duo. I mean don’t get me wrong it actually does work in a weird way with Idris Elba and John Cena in those roles, if it wasn’t those actors it probably wouldn’t have been as watchable.
