The Running Man (2025) Review

A man doing everything possible to provide for his family ends up joining a game show where contestants must survive for 30 days, avoiding the hunters who are trying to kill them, The Running Man.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The last thing Ben Richards wanted was to be on The Running Man, but after being profiled and tested by the network with his anger issues it was going to be the only outcome. He was only doing this because his family could not afford the medicine for their daughter and she was really struggling.

The promises from Dan Killian seem too good to be true, but the drive within Ben would push everything to the limits. The basis of The Running Man is that the general population wanted to see other people get killed and they can report sightings of the contestants. Everything about it is sadistic and in this frightening dystopian future where television networks rule everything.

We get plenty of twists and turns along the way and Ben meets some good and bad people, everything is certainly not as it seems. This adds extra layers to the film, in the style that we have grown to expect from Edgar Wright, it really is your cinema action film!

Quite frankly I wasn’t really expecting much from this film when I went to the cinema to watch it, and I was actually then blown away by how entertaining and non-stop it was in terms of action and thrilling moments. It is exactly what an action film should be! Glen Powell has become our current main leading man and long may that continue, he is made for this type of role, engaging from start to finish! Josh Brolin in this evil role certainly deserves a mention as well. Colman Domingo continues his takeover as well, he excels in every single role.
