The Drama (2026) Review

When happy couple Emma and Charlie head into the week of their wedding, they never would have thought revealing everything about themselves would cause utter chaos and carnage.

⭐️⭐️

Emma and Charlie seem very happy and excited about their up and coming wedding, we get to witness how they met and the different stories paint the picture of how they have built up to this moment. However, an eveing with close friends Rachel and Mike would see it all very quickly fall apart.

They decided to reveal to one another the worst things they have ever done, this is when it gets rather intense with Emma’s reveal and the group not really knowing how they were supposed to not only react instantly but in the aftermath of how that fully changes how they feel about her. One thing that this did make me really focus on was that we should never really let anyone know every single little detail about us, should we? That was the message I took from that.

Seeing Charlie then have so much reservation when the wedding is merely days away was so uncomfortable as a viewer but we sympathised towards him because it really was such a tough topic to deal with. Leading him to make some very rash decisions in the processing period.

The Drama certainly takes a few twists and turns that we don’t expect or see coming, which could have been very impressive but in all honesty I was just left feeling totally flat with it all. Having to add that Alana Haim really is a terrible actress, I just cannot get away with her performances in anything and I feel she really spoilt what should and could have been some very powerful scenes.

Robert Pattinson is going for some crazy relationship films in the past two years, and I feel as though I am waiting to see if he completes a trilogy. Zendaya was just ok as well, maybe the casting was just too off for the film as a whole for me? Mamoudou Athie was probably the best out of them all.
