Top 25 – Female Performances in 2019

2019 has been a fantastic year for female roles as I had 41 performances on my long list to cut down to make this top 25. I can only think that is an amazing way to notice the change in more interesting roles for females within film. I feel this list has a very good mixture of different types of roles across the different genres.

100 Must See Cult Movies

For Christmas I received this incredible Scratch poster which has 100 Must See Cult Movies on it, super exciting to see how many I have already seen and then scratching off the silver to reveal the unique image related to that film.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I have only seen 34 out of the 100

So you have guessed it this is going to be combined as my blindspot challenge as well as a new feature for 2020 (and probably beyond). Catching up with these films regarded as cult classics!

Happy New Year 2020!

We are starting a new decade and in true geek fashion here is a TV moment from Friends where reality has eventually caught up . . .

I wish the very best to everyone who follows and supports Let’s Go To The Movies for the new year ahead. I hope 2020 is a good one and that we get plenty of amazing films to watch throughout!

Top 10 – Best Films of 2019

2019 has been a very high quality year for film and I feel this has been the toughest list to put together in the whole ten years of Let’s Go The Movies. Which is certainly a very good and amazing thing for cinema and films. Not only have this years best come from cinema releases but Netflix have really come into the picture with some incredible films with amazing performances. With my list it might feel a little bit all over the place with some of the films that are on it due to UK release dates, but also take into consideration that I have also been lucky enough to see some previews of films as well.

I had 22 films that were on my list for Best Films of 2019 and it has been very tough to knock that down to the 10 that have then made up this list. Just missing out (Brittany Runs a Marathon, Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Klaus, Judy, Crawl)

Final list . . .

Top 10 – Worst Films of 2019

This year has been a very good year for films and I do always try to pick better and ensure I don’t go and see the mindless comedies that I know I will not enjoy. But it is not possible to fully do that and here are the ten worst films that I managed to see in 2019! This is both cinema released and then films I have caught up with on streaming services Netflix and Amazon Prime, also on flights (a great place to catch up with new releases that you might have missed).
