News: Douglas Questions Marijuana Legalisation

I’m loving all the Michael Douglas news over the past few days !!!

Michael Douglas is urging U.S. government officials to consider legalising the use of marijuana.

The Traffic star insists America’s corrupt history seems destined to repeat itself until his countrymen can smoke freely, recalling the violence incited by Prohibition.

And the 64-year-old is adamant that making cannabis legal would boost America’s flagging economy and make the world more peaceful.

He says, “It’s an interesting issue with all of these troubles that are going on… and trying to resolve things. It’s an interesting thing that’s being raised again.

“I’m questioning it. We’re trying to get a lot of money for health and education and I’m wondering… you look at these gangs, and I look back at Prohibition. When we didn’t allow alcohol, what did we have? We had gangs. We had big gangs. It’s something that needs to be discussed a little more. It’s an economic issue and a violence issue.”

Kerr ‘Too Busy’ To Settle Down With Bloom

If she doesnt want to . . . I will !!! I love Orlando !!!

Orlando Bloom’s model girlfriend Miranda Kerr has no plans to wed the actor in the near future – because she’s “too busy” with work to contemplate settling down.

The Australian Victoria’s Secret beauty has been dating Pirates of the Caribbean star Bloom since late 2007 and the couple was forced to deny rumours of an engagement in December.

Kerr admits she would love to get married and start a family one day – but not just yet.

She tells Eonline.com, “It’s definitely something, one day down the track, I want. But for now, I’m happy. I’m just too busy with work that I can’t be thinking of that right now.”

Efron Joins Influential Stars List

Thats really cool and I can see why.

Zac Efron has been named one of the world’s most influential people by a U.S. magazine – and the teen idol is in good company alongside U.S. President Barack Obama, George Clooney, Bono and Oprah Winfrey.

Efron, who shot to fame in Disney’s High School Musical franchise, has made his first entry in Time magazine’s annual list of the planet’s top 100 influential figures.

And Efron’s Me And Orson Welles co-star Claire Danes is adamant the 21 year old is worthy of the honour, comparing him to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Danes, who starred with DiCaprio in Romeo + Juliet, tells the magazine: “(Working with Zac) I couldn’t help being reminded of the time I had spent with another gifted idol, Leonardo DiCaprio, about a decade before. I saw the simmering ardour of the teenage masses turn into unbridled hysteria after Titanic was released. But this was even more intense. The difference, I realised, was that Zac is not only an actor but also a musician, a bona fide song-and-dance man. We ladies are defenceless against such a combination.

“But I suppose we all know that Zac is a song-and-dance man. What is less known – and what I had the privilege of learning firsthand – is that he is a performer capable of great subtlety and vulnerability. It seems Zac is not only an entertainer but also an artist. He is going to make us swoon for many years to come.”

Other stars on the list include rapper M.I.A., actors Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks, sports star Tiger Woods as well as actresses Kate Winslet and Tina Fey.

McGillis ‘Comes Out As A Lesbian’

Nothing wrong with this at all, must be hard for her to constantly have rumours and stuff going round about her.

Top Gun star Kelly McGillis has turned her back on men for good – reportedly confirming persistent rumours she is gay.

The actress been subjected to gossip about her sexuality throughout her career but she repeatedly denied speculation she was a lesbian.

But now McGillis has apparently confirmed she’s shunning men in favour of a female lover.

According to Radar Online, she says, “I’m done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life. That’s another part of being true to yourself… that’s been a challenge for me personally.

“I think that (accepting my homosexuality) was an ongoing process from the time I was about 12. I had a lot of things happened that convinced me that God was punishing me for being gay. That was a hard process.”

McGillis has been wed twice and has two daughters from her marriage to Fred Tillman. The couple divorced in 2002.

News: Douglas’ Techno-savvy Father Shows Him Up

Awww how cute is this !!!?!?!?! Kirk hahaha love it.

Hollywood star Michael Douglas is ashamed he’s such a technophobe – because his 92-year-old father Kirk has his own blog.

Douglas is proud of the Spartacus star’s status as “the oldest blogger on MySpace” – but admits he doesn’t even know how to use email.

The 64-year-old says, “He (Kirk) prides himself on his spot on MySpace; he’s 92 years old and he’s got a blog on MySpace. He’s got 4,000 followers. I wouldn’t even know how (to read his blog).

“About three years ago I had an email address, the email would go to my office and my secretary would fax me the email!”

Parker’s Fears Over Twins

Awwww I am sure Sarah and Matthew will be able to manage.

Sarah Jessica Parker is nervous about the impending arrival of her new baby twins – because it will be much harder to juggle her work schedule with life as a mother of three.

The former Sex and the City star and her husband Matthew Broderick announced on Tuesday they are set to become parents to surrogate twin daughters.

The little girls, who are due this summer, will be sisters for their six-year-old son James Wilkie.

Parker fears she will struggle to balance her acting roles with her homelife after the babies arrive as it is already difficult enough to find time for her family.

She tells the New York Daily News, “It’s been a complicated past few weeks. My main concern is that my husband and son have enough time. I’ve felt very conflicted over the last few weeks. Hopefully, our son is feeling loved and taken care of. I can’t really complain because it’s my choice to work, but that doesn’t mean I don’t spend a better part of the day worrying about whether my family is getting enough (time) from me.”

But Parker insists her worries are commonplace for any mum-to-be, adding, “Any complications or any anxiety I feel is normal. Any mother who wants to continue to work and have a career outside the home goes through this, so I feel very much a part of the sisterhood.”

Bale Hopes Director Nolan Accepts Third Batman Movie

I really hope Nolan signs up for the third movie as well.

Christian Bale is praying The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan signs up for a third Batman film – because nobody will be able to better the moviemaker’s previous efforts.

Bale was directed by Nolan in 2005’s Batman Begins and reprised his role as the caped crusader for last year’s box office smash, which grossed more than $1 billion (£69 million) worldwide.

The actor is contractually obliged to star in a third film – but he’s worried about the future of the franchise if Nolan refuses to take charge.

He tells Total Film magazine, “It’s got to be the right story. You can’t make something like The Dark Knight and then come out with something disappointing.

“The fact is, I have to (make a third movie). I’ve signed up! Chris doesn’t. So I’m in a bit of a fix if he says he doesn’t want to!”

News: Pattinson’s Rock Star Dreams

I bet he is so glad that he stuck with the acting now !!!

Robert Pattinson nearly gave up on his acting ambitions before landing the lead as a vampire in Twilight – because he couldn’t snag the roles he dreamed of playing.

Pattinson first shot to fame playing wizard Cedric Diggory in 2005’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire – but he began to plot a career as a musician when he failed to secure any more inspiring movie work.

And it wasn’t until he landed the part of an awkward musician in filmmaker Oliver Irving‘s independent movie How To Be that his love for acting was reignited.

Irving tells People.com, “He was thinking about giving up acting and maybe doing music solely when this role (in How To Be) came along. He wanted to play the roles he wasn’t getting… He was looking for something more challenging.”

And the director made sure to push Pattinson during filming, asking him to play the guitar and harmonica while disguising his good looks with a strange haircut and ill-fitting clothing.

Irving adds: “I said, ‘You’re banned from cutting your hair between now and the shoot.’ We had to give him the most awkward haircut we possibly could, and we cut his trouser length a little bit too high. Things like that played down his apparent good looks.”

And Irving insists Pattinson rose to the challenge, often showing off musical skills too advanced for his character: “He downplayed how good he was. A lot of the time he would turn out to have a really good (instrument) technique and we told him he needed to play it more simply.”

Winslet Pities Young Actresses

Yeah it definatly is more intense now. I am pleased for Kate too 🙂

Kate Winslet is relieved she found fame in the 1990s – because young actresses today face more intense media attention than she ever did.

The British beauty shot to international stardom alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in 1997’s Titanic, and faced a barrage of press comments about her curvy figure at the time.

Winslet “bounced back” from the criticisms and learned to love her figure – but admits she found the unwanted attention “f**king hard”.

And the 33 year old pities those just starting out in Hollywood – because she’s convinced they face even more judgement about their looks and their personal lives.

She tells Marie Claire magazine, “It’s really, really tough. It’s like, ‘She’s fat, she’s thin, she’s married, she’s divorced.’ I had all that and bouncing back is f**king hard.

“I’m really, really happy I’m not a younger actor or actress working now because they have to run before they can walk.”
