7 Films that disappointed me in 2016

Having a look at some of the films that I was left rather disappointed with in 2016, that is often due to the hype surrounding them before you get to watch them. I have noticed that Comic Book based films seem to take up most of this list. Surely that just shows that we have way too many over the past few years and it has now past the point of no return in getting loads of them each year.

Here you can see the films that I caught at the cinema during 2016!

Before I get into my top 10 best and worst films of 2016 I thought I would put together this list of films which surprised me in 2016, but not quite enough to make it onto the top 10 list. It is nice to be surprised by a film when you head to the cinema that is for sure!

Here you can see the films that I caught at the cinema during 2016!

7 Lovely Photos of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher

I still cannot quite get my head around this doubly sad and upsetting news about two screen legends. Carrie Fisher grew up in the spotlight and no surprise that she ended up in show business as well. So many lovely photos have been appearing throughout the day and I just had to pick my 7 favourites. To celebrate the life and love of the mother and daughter  ❤

To help celebrate this day I thought it was the perfect opportunity to pick my seven favourites of his films. Please bear in mind though that I haven’t seen all of them!

7 Amazing Disney Villain Songs

Something always draws you towards the villains in Disney films. Maybe it just has to be that they get a truly great song! I am going to share with you my favourites here! Let’s face it Disney do very good bad guys and I certainly think that it has something to do with the actors they have doing the voices of those characters as it certainly is all in the voice, we are lucky enough to get so many of them. Which actually make you doubt if they are all that bad when they get such a great singing moment. Don’t forget to let me know which ones are your favourites!

Where better to start than The Lion King with Scar’s moment! He was just a little bit jealous. Ok very jealous and could not really help being in the shadow of his King brother. Although no excuse what he did really, but we all have to love this song, Jeremy Irons voice!

7 Reasons Jingle All The Way is the Greatest Christmas Film!

This has always been one of my favourite Christmas films (and guilty pleasures), I love Arnold Schwarzenegger. I mean come on who doesn’t? Maybe its best if people don’t answer that one though!

This post is obviously a bit of fun and just showing how many Christmas film essentials it really does have, that you might just forget about. I mean come on a dad is trying to get the latest hottest toy for his son, he doesn’t wait until Christmas Eve or anything and think it will be easy to just go and pick it up. Oh. Then gets into a battle with another dad who is also trying to find a Turbo Man doll, which creates for quite possible the worst Christmas Eve ever.

After seeing Allied last night it got me to thinking about how much I have always been into World War II. I therefore picked my seven favourites that I have seen (so far). Please let me know which ones are your favourites and which ones I should really watch!

Blogathon: 7 Things I Learned from the Movies

banners

You’re invited to get deep, personal or have some fun with the lessons films have taught you, for the THINGS I LEARNED FROM THE MOVIES BLOGATHON.

Your hosts are Ruth of Silver Screenings and Kristina of Speakeasy, and this blogathon happens October 14-17, 2016.

You can do anything: a list, essay, video, or podcast, to discuss the valuable or ridiculous life lesson(s) you learned from a film, whether it was about love, war, greed, kindness, activism, bravery, sacrifice, or prejudice. Tell which movie taught you a universal truth, a new concept, the way a system works, how to craft the perfect comeback, deal with a bully, kill a vampire, behave on a date, solve a murder or mix a cocktail with style. Did a film guide your career choice, help you overcome an obstacle, better understand a friend, era, art form or culture, or change your life?

7 Movie Villains Who Had No Business Losing

Cinema would be nothing without its villains. Not every story has one, of course, but from ordinary antagonists to world-conquering super villains, there’s usually someone to root against, and it’s often these characters that entertain us most, or most effectively drive a story forward. And almost always, these characters lose.

Generally, this is what moviegoers want. We want to see compelling antagonists who are ultimately defeated by more relatable or morally admirable heroes. But that doesn’t change the fact that there have been a lot of movie villains over the years who seemed to have about 99.9 percent chances of triumphing in their respective conflicts. Here are seven such villains who never had any business losing, but graciously did so for narrative convenience.

(Naturally, some spoilers follow for the relevant films)
