7 Reasons to love Jennifer Lawrence

After seeing Joy last week and then catching Jennifer on the Graham Norton show it inspired me to do this blog post. She comes across so cool and that she does not have a care in the world on a chat show and has already played some great characters in film! At the age of 25 she already has an Oscar win to her name for Silver Linings Playbook as well as two other nominations for Winter’s Bone and American Hustle.

7 Films for New Year’s Eve

As 2015 is coming to a close and we are about to start 2016 I thought the perfect way to do that was to take a look back in the film world at films which have fantastic New Year’s Eve scenes or moments. Might be a little bit strange considering I am not really a very big fan of New Year in all honesty and don’t have any plans myself for tonight. It probably doesn’t help that 2015 has been a truly awful year for me, but the less said about that the better. So what better way than to disappear into the world of film and see characters have some great and maybe interesting New Year’s Eve moments?

I do enjoy a good rendition of Auld Lang Syne though in all honesty and you will see that by some of the choices below!

7 Films that surprised me in 2015

Probably the best feeling is when your not really sure about going to see a film and you end up enjoying it. You find it to be a lot more insightful than you first thought and leave the cinema feeling glad that you decided to see that film that maybe didn’t have the best trailer going, or the story you thought would be predictable. I think it’s important to log which films leave you feeling like this, as when you see one you hate you can remember the element of surprise to keep you going!

7 Films that disappointed me in 2015

One of the worst things about watching a lot of films has to be when your really looking forward to one. It has a lot of hype around it, it features one of your favourite actors, you like the sound of the story. You rush to see it at the cinema when it’s released and when it starts you are expecting a lot (probably the first problem) and in the end you are left feeling disappointed. Sometimes though even a little bit of hope for some films is too much and again you are disappointed as the credits roll.

7 Thoughts after watching The Force Awakens again!

After watching the film again I could not help but end up with a few questions or thoughts. I am not really sure some of them can be answered yet, but considering I already have written my review I wanted to think of another way I could get down some thoughts on the throughly enjoyable film to get Star Wars going again. Especially I have pretty much binge watched the other six films since my first Force Awakens viewing, yes really thank you Sky Movies for the Star Wars channel, it’s going to be a sad day when it disappears!

7 Incredible Cate Blanchett Performances

Carol is released in the UK today and I have been looking forward to seeing it for months, after hearing about it while down and in London when the British Film Festival was on. For the premiere I was actually standing so close to the red carpet but couldn’t actually see anything. Cate Blanchett is a double Oscar winner, and been nominated three other times if that doesn’t say something about her incredible ability I don’t know what else will? But she really does have a fantastic range of films and she first came to my attention in Lord of the Rings.

7 Brilliant Tom Hanks Performances

With the up and coming release of Bridge of Spies I thought it would be a good idea to pick my seven favourite of Tom Hanks performances from over the years. It is actually a very difficult choice to pick the best of a double Oscar Winner, with another three nominations to his name. But that really does show the massive quality he has in his filmography. I have even had to leave out his incredible performance as Walt Disney in Saving Mr. Banks out of the list! Another really bad thing is that by putting this post together I have realised that I do not have many of his films reviewed on Let’s Go To The Movies even though I have seen a very high percentage of his films.

7 Incredible Films in Paris

With the absolutely horrendous and tragic events that happened in Paris over the weekend I thought I would put some focus on 7 incredible films (some of them all time favourites of mine) which are set or have a very big link to Paris in the film. It is an incredible city which I was lucky to visit on a school trip but did not fully appreciate all of the culture and buildings at 15 years old, I am sure I would appreciate it all a lot more now. The key thing about Paris by the films I have picked seems to be romance.

7 Worst Films I’ve Sat Through at the Cinema – Part 1

When you go to the cinema a lot and have a card that allows you to see as many films as you want in a month, that does not always work out in your favour. That also means while you will see some brilliant films, some entertaining films etc you will also see some awful films. You may see that this has part 1 next to it, well when I was making the list I had a lot more than 7 films to choose from, plus if I keep going to the cinema I am sure that more will fall under this title!

Unfortunately most of these films were from before I started my blog, it would have been quite interesting reading my initial thoughts on those film as well which is a shame.

7 Reasons why we should feel sorry for Draco Malfoy

This may seem a rather controversial post considering Draco is Harry Potter’s enemy, but is it really as extreme as that was the years pass and things change at Hogwarts? I am not really sure how this post will go down with people in all honesty as at times it probably does seem crazy to feel sorry for Draco.

I must obviously state that this post does contain SPOILERS
