Julia Roberts Film World Cup

As you are probably already aware Julia Roberts is my favourite actress and over the long lockdown days and now weeks I have really enjoyed taking part in the different polls that have been running World Cup style competitions for films, actors and tv shows etc.

So I have launched my own, round 1 is now live on Twitter. The films are split into 12 groups and the top two films will go through into round 2!

Looking forward to seeing what everyone votes to be their favourite Julia Roberts film over the next few days!

Mandy Moore has been given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and this led to a reunion that all of us ‘A Walk to Remember’ fans will totally love. Yes, that’s right Shane West turned up and made a speech! I have always loved that film and it certainly tugs at the heartstrings!

So a lovely reunion between Mandy Moore and Shane West!

Hollywood Walk of Fame – Michael Douglas

I’m sure I am not the only one that assumed Michael Douglas already had his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?

Well, he does now after receiving it in a ceremony yesterday!

Actors in Family Film Roles!

A couple of nights ago now I turned my TV on and The Flintstones was on with John Goodman as Fred, this was a film I can remember a little from my childhood and when it was first released. It them made me think about other actors that I see from these “kids” films and at the time had no idea that some of these were Oscar nominees or winners and even catching up with their older films I cannot help but remember them from the films that I watched during my younger days!

This is a blog post I have thought about putting together in the past and I have tried to come up with as many actors as possible who I have typecast in what were more family/child aimed films. Feel free to have a think about which actors you still see in this way as well! It is always quite interesting to think about which films you associate with an actor and it is usually the first one you see them in.

Orlando Bloom Day!

From this day forward the 31st July shall forever be known as Orlando Bloom. That is because I am heading to London to see him for the very first time, making all of my teenage dreams come true! He is in the play Killer Joe in the West End and I am seriously so excited about this, as you will probably already know he was my biggest teenage crush, I have seen all of his films (and TV appearances) and my love for Lord of the Rings is what started it all!

BAFTA 2018 – Orlando Bloom watch!

An Appreciation: Carrie Fisher

The Last Jedi CreditToday is the first memory of Carrie Fisher’s death and having seen her final performance in The Last Jedi twice at the cinema I thought it was very appropriate to honour her memory today. Not only for the Star Wars franchise but Carrie is also in one of my all time favourite ever films When Harry Met Sally, as a truly fantastic character.

Aside from her iconic film roles she was a truely fantastic role model, someone I certainly wish I could be more like. She really did not care at all what anyone thought of her and spoke her mind. Who wouldn’t want to live just like that?

Most well known for playing the role of James Bond in seven films, often regarded as the greatest Bond of all time.

John Goodman Honored With Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Last week John Goodman was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, yes surprisingly he didn’t already have one. I thought this was amazing news to see after I had just caught up with The Big Lebowski over the weekend. As Jeff Bridges brings back The Dude to honour Goodman, incredible stuff! My love for Bridges is certainly still growing!
