Such sad news that Bill Paxton has passed away today. A huge range in his filmography, thoughts go out to his family at this very sad time.

Rest In Peace ❤

RIP John Hurt

British acting legend has sadly passed away at the age of 77. He was well known for his many film roles including The Elephant Man, 1984, Alien, V for Vendetta and featuring in the Harry Potter series. He also was a well respected actor on stage and the small screen with many roles in TV series.

Rest in Peace Sir John Hurt

RIP Debbie Reynolds

Following the heartbreaking news of Carrie Fisher passing away we have been given a double whammy when a day later her mother Debbie Reynolds has also died. If anyone has ever died of a broken heart this certainly has to be it. Such horrible news for the family now having to deal with even more sadness.

Thoughts go out with the family at this truly difficult time.

RIP Debbie Reynolds

RIP Carrie Fisher

Quite strange that I was sat in the foyer at the cinema as this news broke, waiting to see Rogue One: A Star Wars story! I figure that is a fitting tribute to the actress most well known for her role as Princess Leia in Star Wars. Not forgetting one of my all time favourites ‘When Harry Met Sally’.

Such sad news especially after it was announced on Christmas Day that she was in a stable condition. An inspirational woman who will be truly missed, always spoke openly and honestly. Thoughts are with all of her family and friends.

Rest in peace Carrie!

May the force be with you x

Stage Door – Mark Rylance

Today was my final theatre trio of the year to see Mark Rylance starring in the play he co-wrote Nice Fish (review to follow). Afterwards I headed to the stage door and was actually rather surprised that only two other people had decided to wait for him to come out.

Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart Day!

mobile_zpsoa4oeier

Today is eventually the day when I am going to see these two legends on stage! I haven’t even had to travel to London as they have been so kind to do a small tour of the play and come up to Newcastle. It feels like I have been waiting forever to see it after having the tickets for months and months, I am sure it will be worth the wait (and missing the Newcastle United match).

I think I will even attempt the stage door to see if I can catch a glimpse of them leaving, possible autograph/photos!

August 17th = Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart Day

RIP Alan Rickman <3

I don’t even know where to start with this post expect that I have been felt very sad since hearing the news of the great Alan Rickman’s passing just after lunch time today. I mean I could not quite believe it twice in the space of a few days a truly legendary figure leaving us and finding out via Twitter. It really is such awful news, the very well-respected and loved actor of not just film but stage as well. An actor I have loved from a young age as the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and then coming across him in so many more wonderful roles. Must mention his turn as Snape in the Harry Potter series as come on he is one of the best characters, as well as Love Actually a different type of role again and Die Hard. Those are the films I immediately think of when the name Alan Rickman is mentioned but I know he had so many more great roles as well, the voice!

Robin Williams: A Tribute

I don’t even know where to start with this blog post, I feel so sad even just having to write it. I cannot believe Robin Williams is no longer part of this world. He has always been one of my favourite actors and totally made my childhood with so many films which I still love to this day. I have seen a huge range of his films and will continue to catch up with the ones I have missed. In the past few days I have found myself watching Mrs Doubtfire, Jumanji and Dead Poets Society because they have all been on Sky Movies. Yes I do have those on DVD as well.
