Musical Moments – A Star Is Born (Judy Garland)

From the first moment I saw A Star Is Born with Judy Garland I was totally mesmerised by her incredible performance. The moment we see her put everything into ‘The Man That Got Away’ is incredible.

The release of the trailer for the new version of the film starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga came out last week (Click here if you missed it) and it made me constantly think about this song and that I must watch this version again soon!

Musical Moments – Jurassic Park

For today’s musical moment and with the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom this week I felt as though this fantastic piece of music from Jurassic Park was the perfect way to celebrate!

Seriously isn’t it still as amazing as the first time you heard it!

Musical Moments: Evita – Don’t Cry For Me Argentina

Tomorrow I am going to see Evita for the third time and it really is one of my favourite shows. So many fantastic ballads and moments in what can only be described as a truly depressing evening at the theatre. But I mean that in truly the best way possible as it is haunting and heartbreaking in a well amazing way!

Here is Madelena Alberto (who is in current UK tour) singing Don’t Cry For Me Argentina

Musical Moments: Remember Me from Coco

Having seen Coco at the cinema yesterday afternoon I am still thinking about the song Remember Me which made for some very emotional moments, if you haven’t seen the film yet I am sure you will want to after listening to this!

Musical Moments – Heath Ledger in 10 Things I Hate About You

Today is the 10th anniversary of Heath Ledger’s tragic death at 28 years old, I wanted to put together something as a celebration of his life and the incredible performances he left us with.

Today’s musical moment is such a great scene from 10 Things I Hate About You when Ledger sings “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”

Forever Rest in Peace Heath ❤

Musical Moments: Leading Ladies – Wind Beneath My Wings

On Friday the Leading Ladies which is a supergroup made up from three amazing West End ladies in Beverley Knight, Amber Riley and my absolute favourite Cassidy Janson. Their first album was released Songs from the Stage and an added bonus that they performed on Children in Need singing Wind Beneath My Wings, which is one of the songs on the album!

So this is todays musical moment, if you enjoy this you really should get the album which has a mixture of popular songs and musical favourites, with the three ladies sounding just fantastic together!

Musical Moments – Take a Chance on Me (Julie Walters)

To continue the celebration of Julie Walters becoming Dame Julie Walters I thought what better way than to have a musical moment to cheer everyone up on this cold Monday than a clip from Mamma Mia!

This is an absolutely hilarious moment in the film and as always Walters is outstanding I think the fact that she is acting opposite Skarsgard makes it even better as lets face it he is pretty great all the time as well.

Musical Moments – Young Frankenstein

What better way to stop feeling blue this Monday (Bank Holiday or not) than to watch Gene Wilder and Peter Boyle in Young Frankenstein and ‘Puttin on the Ritz’ which is a truly fantastic moment in the film!

I am still very excited after seeing Mel Brooks on stage after the UK Premiere and preview of Young Frankenstein the Musical. Having watched the film a lot recently as well!

Go on admit it, this made you smile!

Musical Moments: Meat Loaf

Since seeing Bat Out of Hell last week I have been pretty obsessed listening to the albums so I thought what better way to forget it is Monday than these fantastic Jim Steinmen/ Meat Loaf songs!

I have also decided that not many of them are actually happy songs!

Musical Moments – Beautiful Musical

I thought what better preparation for heading down to London for Beautiful: The Carole King Musical closing on Saturday night than having it as todays musical moment. It will be my fourth trip to see the amazing show!
