Hefner Gives Downey, Jr. Thumbs Up For Biopic

I bet Robert Downey Jr. would just love the filming of that role.

Hugh Hefner has given Hollywood actor Robert Downey, Jr. his seal of approval to portray the Playboy boss in a planned biopic.

Iron Man star Downey, Jr. has previously expressed an interest in taking on the lead role in the ageing lothario’s life story, and he’s been given the thumbs up from Hefner himself.

Hefner tells Hollyscoop.com, “Downey and I have talked about it and it is a very real possibility.

“He’s a marvellous actor and I would be honoured if he decided to do it.”

Hanks Flattered By Theron’s Butt Compliments

Haha, always nice to hear something like this about yourself.

Tom Hanks is still beaming after his That Thing You Do! co-star Charlize Theron went public with her love for his perfect butt.

The Monster star recently revealed the actor has “a really, really good a**” – and Hanks can’t believe he’s got the butt of the sexy actress’ dreams.

He says, “She’s a dear. Any woman who would compliment your a** is one to hold onto!”

Bacon Rocks Out With School Band

I love when actors do something like this, its just so lovely and cute.

Kevin Bacon thrilled students at a U.S. performing arts school when he sat down with young songwriters for a jam session.

The actor kicked off Wanna Play Music Week in the U.S. on Monday with a visit, along with his sibling and Bacon Brothers bandmate Michael, to Laguardia High School Of Music and Performing Arts in New York City.

Students joined Bacon for a rendition of Mustang Sally before passing around a microphone and creating a song as part of an improv session, according to the New York Daily News.

Bacon joked, “That is kind of the essence of what playing in a band is really like: passing it off, supporting and encouraging each other.

“Music is a great outlet, whether you are pro or not.”

Howard, Hanks Defend Angels & Demons

I really do feel bad that they have to keep defending it !!!

On the eve of the premiere of director Ron Howard’s Angels & Demons in Rome, Howard has claimed that the Vatican interfered with efforts to get permits to shoot scenes for the film in Rome. For example, he told a news conference in Rome, he was told that he would not be allowed to shoot scenes for the film if churches were shown in the background. To recreate the Sistine Chapel, he said, he had 20 members of his crew pose as tourists to take photos of the chapel. (A spokesman for the Vatican declined to respond to Howard’s accusations, except to say that the were designed to publicize the film.) Star Tom Hanks said that when moviegoers see the film, they will discover “nothing sacrilegious about it at all.” Hanks told the New York Daily News: “Yes, we had a few things go on that are completely fictionalized. But there’s no reason to have a big hurly-burly over what is essentially a whodunit. There’s no major theological discussion that goes on, other than science versus faith. There’s no winner in that argument. I just solve the murder.”

Jackman Slashed Kitsch’s Hand With Wolverine Claw

I can imagine those claws would have been difficult to control!!!

Actor Hugh Jackman left his X-men Origins: Wolverine co-star Taylor Kitsch with a bloody hand during filming – after accidentally slashing him with his metallic claws.

Jackman shares an intense fight scene with Kitsch’s character Gambit in the comic book movie – and the Australian star admits he got a little too aggressive during one take.

He says, “We were having this fight scene and he has his staff and he goes to hit me and I stop him with my claws, and he pulls back really quickly.

“I’m looking at him because they (the directors) haven’t called cut, and I’m looking at my claws and there’s only two claws coming out, and I’m thinking, ‘Where’s the third claw?’ I look up and it’s sticking out of his hand. Straight into his hand and he’s like, ‘Whoa dude, something I said?'”

But Kitsch brushed off the injury and pressed ahead with shooting.

Jackman adds, “He pulls it (the claw) out, wipes the blood on his jeans and goes, ‘Let’s go’.”

Howard Blasts Vatican Over Movie Shoot

Even more news. I can see how Ron is upset I mean after all it is just a movie . . .

Director Ron Howard has accused Vatican officials of deliberately sabotaging filming of his upcoming movie Angels & Demons.

The film, based on author Dan Brown’s book of the same name, stars Tom Hanks as a Harvard professor who investigates the murder of a physicist and a terrorist act against the Vatican by a secret brotherhood.

The movie is a prequel to 2006’s The Da Vinci Code, and both have come under fire from Catholic leaders who claim the films attack the core beliefs of their faith.

Howard alleges diocese staff in Rome used “back channels” to prevent shooting near several churches key to the movie’s plot – and blasts them for vetoing a special screening of Angels & Demons in Rome.

Speaking at a recent press conference, he said, “When you come to film in Rome, the official statement to you is that the Vatican has no influence. Everything progressed very smoothly, but unofficially a couple of days before we were to start filming in several of our locations, it was explained to us that through back channels and so forth, the Vatican had exerted some influence.

“There was supposed to be a reception or screening here in Rome that had been approved and I suppose that the Vatican had some influence over that.”

However, a Vatican spokesman has brushed off the comments, insisting Howard is merely trying to drum up publicity for the film ahead of its release later this month.

Hindus Support Catholics Over Angels & Demons Fuss

It seems there is going to be a lot more fuss over this movie, and this is before it has been released. I dont really understand how people can have an opinion on something that they have not yet seen.

Hindu scholars have joined Catholics around the world by condemning the filmmakers of Da Vinci Code prequel Angels & Demons for “playing with the sentiments of the faithful for mercantile greed”.

Universal Society of Hinduism officials in America have voted to censure the film, starring Tom Hanks, because they claim director Ron Howard and his producers have failed to acknowledge how their film could damage Catholic faith.

The film explores the concept that a secret brotherhood slays and murders those who get too close to revealing the truth behind the myth that Jesus Christ fathered a child and his lineage lives on.

Ush spokesman and Hindu statesman Rajan Zed says, “Faith is something sacred and attempts at belittling it hurts the devotees. Filmmakers should be more sensitive and careful while handling faith-related subjects because cinema is a very powerful medium.

“The U.S. Confederation of Catholic Bishops supported us when we attempted to boycott Mike Myers’ The Love Guru last year – when that film trivialised Hinduism – and we support them now.

“Despite our seriously different traditions, we are all fellow seekers of the ultimate reality, and we were all headed in the same direction. So, we should help each other on our journey towards truth and have some sort of trust and mutual loyalty.

“We believe films should entertain and make everybody smile; they should not come at the expense of ridiculing others’ faith and spreading disinformation. Movies like this bring more confusion and create stereotypes in the minds of some audiences.”

Zed’s comments come just days after Hanks defended the film against Catholic attacks, insisting there is “nothing sacrilegious” about the murder mystery.

He told the New York Daily News, “People will see there’s nothing sacrilegious about it at all. Yes, we had a few things go on that are completely fictionalised; but there’s no reason to have a big hurly-burly over what is essentially a whodunit (murder mystery).”

Christensen Fuming Over Penn Romance Rumours

I think that would be a very strange link :s

Supermodel Helena Christensen has taken aim at New York newspaper editors for implying she is romantically involved with soon-to-be-divorced actor Sean Penn, insisting they are just friends.

Penn separated from his actress wife Robin Wright Penn at the end of April, just months after they reunited following a previous split.

Days later, the New York Post’s Page Six columnists claimed Christensen had “befriended” Penn – and she’s furious at the insinuation that she was the ‘other woman’ in his marriage.

The Danish beauty has also blasted the gossips for previously linking her to Josh Hartnett and the late Heath Ledger.

In an email to the publication, Christensen fumes: “I’m quite honestly getting seriously fed up with being falsely connected with several men on Page Six: Josh Hartnett, Heath Ledger, and now it is insinuated (we all know what ‘befriended’ means on these pages!) that Sean Penn is another.

“There has never been any intimacy between myself and any of these men, and I want this cleared once and for all.

“I have known Sean since I was in my early 20s and have met his wife several times. He has always been a friend and we have several friends in common. I have always respected his wife immensely and regard her as one of my favourite actresses.

“Please stop always making up these ridiculous insinuations about myself and all these men… It was very hurtful to myself and Heath when we were wrongly declared a couple, and I’m sick and tired of the Josh Hartnett connection as well. These people were or are close friends of mine, as is Sean Penn.”

Oscar-winning Milk star Penn originally filed for divorce back in 2007.

News: Zeta-Jones Treated For Sinus Problems

Awww poor Catzy !!!

Welsh beauty Catherine Zeta-Jones has been nursing her husband Michael Douglas back to health – while making daily trips to the hospital for her own ailments.

Douglas recently underwent knee replacement surgery, and Zeta-Jones has been taking care of him while he recovers at their Bermuda home.

And the Entrapment star has nothing but praise for the staff at their local hospital on the tropical island, who have been helping her with sinus problems for the last four weeks.

She says, “I have been at the hospital for so many days with my sinus problems and I must say they have done a good job. I’m telling you, I have been there every day for the last four weeks, but now I feel fine.”
