Johansson’s Directorial Debut Is Dumped

Awww thats a shame for Scarlett to have her first pieces of directional stuff not to make the final movie. But I am sure she will have plenty more chances in the future.

Scarlett Johansson has suffered a major blow to her dreams of becoming a director – the film segment she shot for a new movie has been cut from the final version.

The 24-year-old was among a number of stars, including fellow actress Natalie Portman, who took part in making upcoming film New York, I Love You – which is a series of love stories all shot by different directors.

But Johansson’s contribution, her directorial debut, has been edited out, with producer Emmanuel Benbihy insisting the short was too “conceptualised” to fit in with the rest of the picture.

He tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, “The story did not specifically involve an interpersonal relationship, and it was conceptualised to be filmed in black and white – both of which were extreme departures from the other films.

“Scarlett presented me with an extremely compelling, albeit unconventional, narrative that appeared as though it would not necessarily conform to the overall approach of the entire collective.

“I was very much moved by her vision (but) after months of editing I had to admit that there were editorial decisions to be made in the interest of serving the overall narrative and composition that resulted in previously filmed scenes and footage not getting used.”

News: Douglas Ended Flings For Zeta-Jones

Awwww I think thats really good that he done that for Catherine. But also that she told him, she would not allow him to stray. Love MD and Catzy ❤

Michael Douglas put an end to his womanising ways when he started dating Catherine Zeta-Jones – because the actress told him she would not tolerate infidelity.

The 64-year-old actor married Zeta-Jones, 39, in 2000 and they now have two children together.

And Douglas, who was previously wed to Diandra Luker, admits when he first began dating the Entrapment star she made him promise to become a one-woman man.

He tells America’s Parade magazine, “The night I really fell for Catherine she told me, ‘I know you’re a single guy and you’re entitled to do what you want. But if we’re going to continue this, then I just want to start with a clean deck. It’s got to be just me.'”

And Douglas was so impressed with his girlfriend’s honesty he immediately ended all of his other romances.

He adds, “I had to go upstairs and make a few phone calls to clear the decks and start fresh. But I’m not ‘fessing up to how many calls I made.”

Berry Hopes For X-men Return

I hope that Storm and other X-Men characters get there own Origins movie, like Wolverine would be sooooo cool.

Halle Berry hopes to follow in the footsteps of Hugh Jackman by reviving her X-men character for a prequel.

Jackman’s new movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set before the comic book trilogy and tells the life story of his superhero alter ego.

And Berry, who played weather-controlling mutant Storm in the first three films, would love to return to the franchise with her own X-Men Origins picture.

She says, “I think that would be great. Storm deserves her own movie – if I can still fit into the suit.”

Winslet’s Dad Backs Childhood Stories

Its really good that she had a good childhood 🙂

Kate Winslet’s parents have confirmed the star’s recent revelations she had an impoverished childhood – but insist it was a happy one.

Last month the Titanic star hit out at critics who assume she had a privileged upbringing because of her well-spoken accent – insisting the family was so poor she grew up wearing second-hand shoes.

The actress’ parents, Roger and Sally Winslet, confirmed their family struggled to make ends meet, and were forced to take cheap vacations in the south-west of England.

Roger says, “Everything Kate said is true. The only thing she forgot to say was how happy we were. Yes, the children only had 10p pocket money but in that day and age it was perfectly normal. That could get you a lot and they were never left wanting.

“We are as normal and abnormal as everyone else. We are ultimately a very private and loving family and that’s what is most important to me.”

Wolverine Wins Big On U.S. Opening Day

I thought it would open to a big box office.

Hugh Jackman has clawed in an impressive box office haul for his latest mutant movie X-men Origins: Wolverine – the blockbuster has grossed $35 million (£23.4 million) on its first day of release in the U.S.

The highly-anticipated film, which is a prequel to the original X-Men trilogy, tells the tale of Jackman’s character Wolverine – a self-healing superhero who has retractable metal claws.

And Jackman has gone down a storm with comic book fans – his solo X-Men outing took more money than the openings of the first two movies, X-Men and X2.

Only the franchise’s third film, X-Men: The Last Stand, enjoyed higher takings – it earned $45.1 million (£30.2 million) on its opening day in 2006.

News: Pattinson Struggled Through Nude Scenes

Seems to be a lot Robert stories over the past few days. I am sure he doesnt need to worry about that.

Robert Pattinson struggled through nude scenes in Salvador Dali biopic Little Ashes and blames his English upbringing for making him so uptight.

The Twilight heartthrob plays the Spanish painter in the movie and admits scenes in which he had to strip down and show off his naked body were tough to shoot.

Pattinson tells Moviefone.com, “It’s funny because Spanish people… have no problem with nudity at all, and English people obviously do have, like, the most enormous problem with it.

“It’s like little things, like when I saw my father getting changed for swimming (and) I got, like, traumatised by it.”

News: Douglas Questions Marijuana Legalisation

I’m loving all the Michael Douglas news over the past few days !!!

Michael Douglas is urging U.S. government officials to consider legalising the use of marijuana.

The Traffic star insists America’s corrupt history seems destined to repeat itself until his countrymen can smoke freely, recalling the violence incited by Prohibition.

And the 64-year-old is adamant that making cannabis legal would boost America’s flagging economy and make the world more peaceful.

He says, “It’s an interesting issue with all of these troubles that are going on… and trying to resolve things. It’s an interesting thing that’s being raised again.

“I’m questioning it. We’re trying to get a lot of money for health and education and I’m wondering… you look at these gangs, and I look back at Prohibition. When we didn’t allow alcohol, what did we have? We had gangs. We had big gangs. It’s something that needs to be discussed a little more. It’s an economic issue and a violence issue.”

Kerr ‘Too Busy’ To Settle Down With Bloom

If she doesnt want to . . . I will !!! I love Orlando !!!

Orlando Bloom’s model girlfriend Miranda Kerr has no plans to wed the actor in the near future – because she’s “too busy” with work to contemplate settling down.

The Australian Victoria’s Secret beauty has been dating Pirates of the Caribbean star Bloom since late 2007 and the couple was forced to deny rumours of an engagement in December.

Kerr admits she would love to get married and start a family one day – but not just yet.

She tells Eonline.com, “It’s definitely something, one day down the track, I want. But for now, I’m happy. I’m just too busy with work that I can’t be thinking of that right now.”

Efron Joins Influential Stars List

Thats really cool and I can see why.

Zac Efron has been named one of the world’s most influential people by a U.S. magazine – and the teen idol is in good company alongside U.S. President Barack Obama, George Clooney, Bono and Oprah Winfrey.

Efron, who shot to fame in Disney’s High School Musical franchise, has made his first entry in Time magazine’s annual list of the planet’s top 100 influential figures.

And Efron’s Me And Orson Welles co-star Claire Danes is adamant the 21 year old is worthy of the honour, comparing him to Leonardo DiCaprio.

Danes, who starred with DiCaprio in Romeo + Juliet, tells the magazine: “(Working with Zac) I couldn’t help being reminded of the time I had spent with another gifted idol, Leonardo DiCaprio, about a decade before. I saw the simmering ardour of the teenage masses turn into unbridled hysteria after Titanic was released. But this was even more intense. The difference, I realised, was that Zac is not only an actor but also a musician, a bona fide song-and-dance man. We ladies are defenceless against such a combination.

“But I suppose we all know that Zac is a song-and-dance man. What is less known – and what I had the privilege of learning firsthand – is that he is a performer capable of great subtlety and vulnerability. It seems Zac is not only an entertainer but also an artist. He is going to make us swoon for many years to come.”

Other stars on the list include rapper M.I.A., actors Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks, sports star Tiger Woods as well as actresses Kate Winslet and Tina Fey.

McGillis ‘Comes Out As A Lesbian’

Nothing wrong with this at all, must be hard for her to constantly have rumours and stuff going round about her.

Top Gun star Kelly McGillis has turned her back on men for good – reportedly confirming persistent rumours she is gay.

The actress been subjected to gossip about her sexuality throughout her career but she repeatedly denied speculation she was a lesbian.

But now McGillis has apparently confirmed she’s shunning men in favour of a female lover.

According to Radar Online, she says, “I’m done with the man thing. I did that, I need to move on in life. That’s another part of being true to yourself… that’s been a challenge for me personally.

“I think that (accepting my homosexuality) was an ongoing process from the time I was about 12. I had a lot of things happened that convinced me that God was punishing me for being gay. That was a hard process.”

McGillis has been wed twice and has two daughters from her marriage to Fred Tillman. The couple divorced in 2002.
