Total Film: 600 Movie Blogs You Might Have Missed

After reading about the “600 Movie Blogs You Might Have Missed” article on the LAMB and on Branden’s blog Foolish Blatherings.

I decided to have a search and see if Let’s Go To The Movies made it onto the list and we most certainly did on the second page: http://www.totalfilm.com/features/600-movie-blogs-you-might-have-missed/page:2. Thanks Total Film!!!

This actually made me very happy especially seeing my blog next to a lot of the blogs I enjoy to read. Also I see this as a chance to have a scroll through some of the 600 listed to see if I can find more blogs I would like to visit more often.

This has been a nice week really, on that 600 list, hitting 100,000 hits and almost a year old for the blog. Good times!

News: Catherine Zeta Jones “I Love Older Men”

Just when I thought it was impossible to love Catherine Zeta Jones more than I do . . . I read this new article entitled “I Love Older Men”, something that I share with CZJ. Always loved Catherine and Michael together.

Catherine Zeta-Jones has reportedly claimed that she is not attracted to younger men.

The Rebound star, who has been married to actor Michael Douglas, 25 years her senior, since 2000, has insisted that she finds younger men to be “selfish” and “narcissistic”, Perez Hilton reports.

The 40-year-old actress said: “I know that young men are more unbiased, playful and firmer. There’s no question about that. But they are also more selfish and narcissistic. This is why they never had a chance to go out with me.

“I need a man who is sensitive and caring. Someone who is superior to me and I can lean on. But that doesn’t mean that I fancy old and fat men.”

Zeta-Jones also said that she and her 65-year-old husband have never had an issue with the age gap in their relationship.

She added: “He knows exactly what he wants and what life is about. That impresses me. But Michael can also be a real softy. He sends me flowers and cries when his kids say something particularly pathetic.

“We didn’t care about the age gap from the beginning on. We relied more on our emotions and feelings. It was like that and it should always be like that.”

What do you think about age gaps?

Breaking Dawn (2011)

Breaking Dawn the fourth and final book of the Twilight saga has been given the green light and will begin filming in Septemeber 2010.

A director for the film has not yet been attached to the project.

Rumours have stated that it might be done in two parts, but this is yet to be confirmed.

At least everyone now knows that the franchise will be completed.

News: The Wrestler Made Wood Address Estrangement Issues With Her Real Dad

I think its nice to see that a role in a movie can help an actor in their personal life sort things out. Especially after her role in “The Wrestler”.

Evan Rachel Wood has credited her portrayal as Mickey Rourke’s daughter in The Wrestler with helping to resolve estrangement issues with her own dad.

The actress admits the role made her face her own family problems and now she and her father have never been closer – in fact they’re planning to star opposite one another in a family production of Romeo & Juliet in North Carolina.

Wood insists such a project would never have been possible before she played Rourke’s estranged daughter in The Wrestler.

She tells i-d magazine, “All these issues came up that I didn’t know I still had until I was forced to go there and it totally reconnected me with him (father).

“Everything that’s been pent-up over the years suddenly comes out, then you don’t talk for a while, and then you slowly reconcile.

“There wasn’t any closeness. We had to get to know each other again. Getting to know him now, it’s like, ‘Oh my God, you are so cool.'”

RIP SIR BOBBY ROBSON

Taken aside from films, this is a very sad day for football. For Newcastle United, and fans of football around the Country and across the world.

He was a true gentleman of the game and just a joy to listen to and watch.

I was there the day he became Newcastle manager and it was so an occasion. I started going to games in his era and it was fantastic.

News: Bridget Jones Is Back

I really do think this is fantastic news. I am such a huge fan of Bridget Jones, I would love it if that means a third book will come out as well. As the books are so good too.

Bridget Jones is back – Renee Zellweger has signed on to appear in a third film about the hapless diary-keeper.

The first film in 2001 grossed $282 million (£188 million) worldwide, while the 2004 sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, raked in $262 million (£175 million).

And bosses at British studio Working Title have decided it is time for Zellweger to return to the role of the beloved Brit to round out the trilogy.

It is thought the new film will concentrate on Jones’ quest to have a baby in her 40s.

Colin Firth and Hugh Grant are expected to return, according to reports.

News: Noth’s Tribute To Dad

Awww I think thats so nice that Chris is doing it 🙂 Yes I love SATC cast in what ever they do.

Sex And The City star Chris Noth is paying tribute to his late father – he has agreed to promote life insurance awareness in the U.S.

Noth was nine years old when his dad Charles, an insurance salesman, lost his life in a car crash, leaving his mother Jeanne to support the family and put Noth and his brothers through college on her husband’s policy.

Now the star has agreed to become the spokesperson for Life Insurance Awareness Month in September to encourage Americans to take care of their loved ones by investing in insurance policies.

He says, “I know from personal experience that life insurance can be the bedrock of a family’s financial security.”

News: Ritchie & Timberlake To Team Up For Movie

Hmmm I think Justin would be very good in “Guys and Dolls” as we know he can sing. I am still rather shocked by Jason Statham as I really do not think that he will be able to sing.

Guy Ritchie has reportedly lined up Justin Timberlake to star in a remake of Guys And Dolls.

The director is said to have roped in movie hardman Jason Statham to show off his vocal talents in a reworking of the classic musical.

And now he’s asked Timberlake, who starred in 2006 crime movie Alpha Dog, to also appear in the new project, according to Britain’s The Sun newspaper.

A source tells the publication, “Work is really taking off for Guy at the moment and he is lining up talent for projects in the pipeline. Guy and Justin have known each other for a while through Guy’s ex-wife Madonna.

“Guy rates Justin as an actor. He thought he was impressive in Alpha Dog. He likes his personality. Justin would be ideal for Guys And Dolls because he can act, dance and sing.

“He would be a great box office draw into the bargain, as well as a safe bet to sell the soundtrack.”

News: Nighy Joining Harry Potter Cast?

Can I just say WOW if Billy does join the Harry Potter cast and that will be the only time I actually really want to see a Harry Potter movie.

Actor Bill Nighy is trading in his pirate’s hat for a magician’s wand – he’s reportedly set to join the cast of Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows.

The Brit starred as Davy Jones alongside Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley in Pirates of the Caribbean franchise’s second and third installments.

But he’s now being linked to the role of Minister of Magic Rufus Scrimgeour for the last movies in the boy wizard series, according to British newspaper The Independent.

If the reports are true, Nighy won’t need to spend too much time in the make-up chair as he already shares some of the character’s features. Scrimgeour is described in the book the film is based on as an “old lion” with bushy eyebrows, tawny hair, yellow eyes and wire-rimmed spectacles.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows will hit cinemas in two parts, with the first half of the story due in 2010.

News: Stars Invited To Join Oscars Organisation

I think this is very interesting to see who will be able to vote for future Academy Award winners.

Heath Ledger’s ex-girlfriend Michelle Williams, Casey Affleck and Emily Blunt are among the 134 stars and moviemakers who have been invited to become members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – the organisation behind the Oscars.

The celebrities, executives and behind-the-scenes experts invited to become a part of the Academy Awards will be able to vote for the winners of the 2010 prizegiving in March.

Academy President Sid Ganis says, “These filmmakers have, over the course of their careers, captured the imagination of audiences around the world. It’s this kind of talent and creativity that make up the Academy, and I welcome each of them to our ranks.”

New members will be welcomed into the Academy at an invitation-only reception at the Fairbanks Center for Motion Picture Study in Beverly Hills in September.

Other invitees include Michael Cera, 2009 Oscar nominees Taraji P. Henson and Viola Davis, James Franco, Anne Hathaway and 2009 Oscars host Hugh Jackman.
