Berry Still Determined Not To Wed

I like that Halle Berry is focused and will not be forced to get married and her partner is also happy with this. I think that in this current age, it just shows that you do not have to be married to be happy.

Halle Berry has repeated her commitment never to wed again – and she’s found a man who shares her anti-marriage stance.

The actress vowed never to be anyone’s wife again after she split from her second husband Eric Benet in 2006, and she’s sticking to her promise even though she’s found love and a family with model Gabriel Aubry.

She tells the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar magazine, “I’m done. I happened to find a person who feels done too, and he’s never even been married before. So it works.”

But the 42 year old is committed to being a mum again, now baby Nahla is one.

She adds, “My pregnancy was amazing. I was happy that whole time, I felt good, I had energy, I was like Superwoman. I wish I could feel like that for the rest of my life, that’s how fantastic it was.”

Minnelli’s Plea To Garland Producers

I back this up for Liza. I think its important to remember the good side of Judy’s life and career. Focusing on what she done well, instead.

Liza Minnelli is urging filmmakers to avoid focusing on her late mother Judy Garland‘s drug addiction in an upcoming production.

Actress Anne Hathaway will be tackling The Wizard Of Oz star’s hits as part of the Weinstein Company’s planned theatre and film project, based on biographer Gerald Clarke‘s 2001 book Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland.

Garland’s daughter Minnelli has approved of casting Hathaway in the role – but is convinced the new versions must focus on her mother’s talent instead of her well-documented personal problems.

Minnelli tells Canada’s Citytv, “Well, I love Anne Hathaway. And I hope that it’s a good movie and I hope that it’s true. You know, that they don’t just concentrate on the crap like they usually do.

“(I hope) that they talk about her the way she should be talked about which was she was a fabulous entertainer, a great mother and just a wonderful human being.”

McKellen’s Struggles With Day-Lewis

I find this really interesting as it has often been stated that Daniel Day Lewis is very serious about his acting.

Sir Ian McKellen always struggled working with Daniel Day-Lewis – because of the star’s extreme acting methods.

The thespians were both members of the Royal Shakespeare Company throughout the 1980s.

McKellen insists he found it difficult to get on with Day-Lewis, because he was so serious about his techniques.

And McKellen reveals the Oscar-winner has maintained his method acting ways throughout his career.

He says, “Daniel insists you address him by his character’s name the whole time he is doing a film. If he is speaking with an American accent, he talks all the time in American. If he is riding horseback, then it is horseback all the time.”

Downey Jr. Confirms Iron Man 2 Cast

YAY I really hope that it is true 🙂 Mickey !!!

Mickey Rourke and Scarlett Johansson have been officially confirmed for the Iron Man sequel – by the film’s star, Robert Downey, Jr.

After weeks of speculation, Downey, Jr. reveals the pair will play villains in the film.

He says, “They are both cast and doing Iron Man 2. Garry Shandling is in the film. Of course we have Don Cheadle. We have Sam Jackson. We have Sam Rockwell. And we, of course, have, my dearest heart, Gwyneth Paltrow.”

Jackson Is A Grump On Set

Everyone just has to love Samuel L Jackson and I dont think it would matter if he was a little grumpy on set.

Veteran actor Samuel L. Jackson has embraced turning 60 years old – because he can now be a grumpy old man on film sets.

The Pulp Fiction star has showed little sign of slowing down his movie career since hitting the landmark age in December.

But his committed work ethic often leaves him disappointed with younger colleagues who refuse to toil as hard as he does.

Jackson says, “See, I have this unreasonable expectation that everyone is going to be as prepared as I am when I show up for work. I’m becoming more unreasonable as I grow older.”

And he insists it is inexperienced filmmakers who annoy him most, adding: “Most times the actors know what they’ve got to do; it’s young directors from the video world who drive me crazy. I know the shots will probably be used as DVD extras. But when I say this, the young guys stare at me like I’m being evil.”

Miller Not Old Enough To Play Maid Marian

I am glad that Cate Blanchett has the part, I think she is a fantastic actress.

Sienna Miller lost the chance to play Robin Hood‘s sweetheart in Ridley Scott‘s new Medieval epic – because she’s too young.

The actress had been attached to The Sheriff of Nottingham for over a year but when the project went through a rewrite, it quickly became clear she was no longer the right fit – and Cate Blanchett became the new leading lady.

Miller tells WENN, “The script has been evolving and changing and it often happens in films. They’ve been trying to make this for a couple of years and they rewrote the script and they needed someone who was older.

“There’s a husband who has been away at war for 10 years and he comes back, so it’s just not feasible for me to play her. Cate Blanchett is doing it.”

Miller insists there have been many other cast changes – but the media refuses to focus on them.

She adds, “The media doesn’t have to make quite as much a meal of it as they do when it happens to me. I’m sure it will be a wonderful project but this is not an absolutely shocking thing to happen in the movie industry when scripts evolve and casts change.

“Other people have changed in that cast, but the media just won’t document it. I would obviously love to work with Ridley and still I hope to in the future.”

Rourke Fells Jericho To End Feud

I so must search for a clip of this later !!!

Mickey Rourke made good on his promise to go head-to-head with wrestler Chris Jericho when he stepped into the ring to deliver a smackdown on Sunday.

The actor has been locked in a bitter and public war of words with Jericho since January, when he announced his plans to spar with the grappler at the WWE’s Wrestlemania 25 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Jericho then hit back, telling Rourke: “I don’t have respect for you… Be careful what you wish for, Mr. Rourke.”

But Rourke was subsequently forced to bow out of the bout, citing the revival of his acting career as his main priority.

He repeated this sentiment to reporters hours before the event on Sunday, explaining: “Contractually, because I’m doing this movie called Iron Man 2 now, I can’t get in the ring with (Jericho).”

Sitting in the audience, Rourke watched as Jericho defeated three other professional wrestlers, before taunting and challenging the actor to a showdown.

But Rourke then stunned fans as he stepped up to the ring to settle the feud with his nemesis once and for all.

Removing his cowboy hat, Rourke clambered over the guard ropes and landed a punch that left Jericho reeling.

He was then joined by wrestling legend Ric Flair to celebrate his victory.

Rourke won a string of awards for his performance as Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson in The Wrestler, but he missed out on a first Best Actor Oscar when he was beaten by pal Sean Penn.

Mortensen: ‘No More Movies’

Awww I hope this is not true . . . it makes me sad. I love a bit of Aragorn . . . and Viggo !!!

Viggo Mortensen has vowed to give up making movies – because promoting them leaves him exhausted.

The 50 year old has starred in numerous films and TV shows since launching his acting career in 1985, most notably as Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings franchise.

But the star insists the gruelling promotional schedule for each new release is leaving him shattered – and it’s spurred him on to quit the industry.

Mortensen tells Britain’s The Times newspaper, “In the past week I’ve been from L.A. to Japan to Korea to Poland to here. It’s ridiculous! It’s not a healthy way to be. But, as it happens, I’m taking measures to change that.

“No more movies. I haven’t said yes to one in over a year. I’ve been in all these well-received movies and it seems like I should be doing some more, but there’s other things I want to do. It’s not the right time.

“If it all dries up now, I’ve had a good run.”

Rourke Agrees Iron Man 2 Deal

YAY best news i’ve heard all day :-). So it looks as though a good cast is forming for this film.

Mickey Rourke is set for a starring role in the upcoming Iron Man sequel – after the film’s bosses finally agreed to the Oscar-nominee’s pay demands.

Rourke was rumoured to have turned down the chance to play Russian villain Whiplash, after he was offered $250,000 (£180,000) for the part.

But the Wrestler star has now signed up to star alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Jon Favreau‘s follow-up to his 2008 hit, after studio chiefs at Marvel upped his pay packet, according to Variety.

Rourke joins a star-studded cast including Sam Rockwell and Samuel L. Jackson in the movie, which is scheduled to hit cinemas in summer 2010.

Cage: ‘I Resigned From The Wrestler’

Well, I for one am really glad that Nicolas Cage did not end up playing Randy “The Ram” Robinson. As Mickey is just perfect in the role. Cannot imagine Nicolas Cage in it at all . . .

Nicolas Cage has confirmed he quit The Wrestler because he didn’t think he’d have time to get into steroid-pumping shape.

The role that sparked a major comeback for Mickey Rourke initially belonged to Cage, but the Con Air star resigned from the project – because he didn’t think he’d make a believable Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson.

Cage tells TV news show Access Hollywood, “I resigned from the movie because I didn’t think I had enough time to achieve the look of the wrestler who was on steroids, which I would never do.”

And the actor reveals he asked for Rourke’s blessing when the film role came to him – because it was written for the Angel Heart star.

Cage adds, “For whatever reason, they couldn’t get the financing for the movie back then.”
