News: Parker Hid Prudishness To Win Sex Role

As you may know by now that I love SJP and SATC especially her character Carrie Bradshaw. So to read this news is just so cute !!!

Sarah Jessica Parker hid her shyness from Sex And The City bosses – because she thought it would cost her the role of Carrie Bradshaw.

The actress rose to fame as cocktail-drinking party girl and New York newspaper columnist Bradshaw in the hit U.S. series.

She felt uncomfortable swearing in the role and was left shocked with the amount of explicit content included in the show.

But she refused to let television bosses know she was so clean-cut, fearing they would think she was the wrong person for the part.

She says, “If the audiences had known my true feelings about some of the sexual content in Sex And The City, they may have felt I wasn’t the right person to be in such a series. I just don’t drink, that’s part of the problem. I don’t like the taste of it and I don’t drink to relax.

“It has always been that way. I’ve never smoked anything other than the occasional cigarette in my whole life – and have never taken drugs of any kind.”

And Parker, who had a no-nudity clause written into her contract for the show, also had to adjust to the amount of sex scenes in each episode.

She adds, “I was thrilled that the others did the scenes so well and they looked great. But I have to deal with my own modesty. I wasn’t comfortable with the vulgar language, either. I thought that, because Carrie was a writer, she would be able to use better language than she did.”

News: Jackman To Play Cyrus’ Minder In New Bodyguard Movie

I like the sound of this, but I asuming with the age gap between Miley and Hugh they will not have the romantic connection which was in “The Bodyguard”.

Hugh Jackman and Miley Cyrus are set to team up for a new movie based loosely on hit film The Bodyguard.

The Aussie star will play a New York police detective hired to bodyguard a spoiled teen heiress (Cyrus) after she receives a kidnap threat, according to Daily Variety.

The new film is tentatively titled Personal Security.

RIP Michael Jackson

While a lot of the talk is about the sudden passing of Michael Jackson. I must also pay tribute to the music legend, who really did change the face of music over the years. With such massive hits and he still holds the biggest record sales in the world of his album “Thriller”.

So many of his songs have featured in movies and so many mentionings of him in movies which I am sure will continue and keep his memory alive.

My favorite Michael Jackson songs have to be “Man in the Mirror” and “Billie Jean”.

RIP Michael Jackson

News: Efron Signs On For ‘Sexy Thriller’

Mmmm Zac in a sexy thriller . . . I very much like the sound of that !!!!

Zac Efron is keen to leave his teen idol image behind – he has signed on to star in a “sexy thriller” from the writer of The Thomas Crown Affair.

Efron, who has built up a huge teenage fanbase after starring in Disney hit High School Musical, is looking to move into a lead role with a more mature edge.

And he is starting his transformation into a serious Hollywood actor by appearing in the next film by writer/producer Leslie Dixon.

But the star won’t feel too out of place in Dixon’s movie – the pair worked together on Hairspray, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

News: Pfeiffer Wants To Play Catwoman Again

OMG yes please, Michelle was just fantastic as Catwoman in “Batman Returns” so to see her again as Catwoman in a Batman movie would just be amazing !!!

Michelle Pfeiffer is calling on Batman Begins director Christopher Nolan to let her reprise her role as Catwoman in the Caped Crusader’s next movie outing.

Pfeiffer played the feline superhero in 1992 movie Batman Returns.

She handed the role over to Halle Berry in time for a 2004 spin-off – but admits she’d love to reclaim the leather catsuit and join Christian Bale’s Batman in a future film.

Pfeiffer tells Moviefone, “It would be really fun. I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think they like to get a new face for the different characters, and I understand it. But yeah, that was really fun. I had a good time.”

News: 2010 Hollywood Walk of Fame

So far that makes two of my favorites getting a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Those two being Bryan Adams and Colin Firth.

Andrea Bocelli and actors Russell Crowe, Colin Firth and John Cusack have been added to the list of celebrities set for stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010 – the 50th year of the famous stretch of Tinseltown real estate.

They will be joined by director James Cameron, actress Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and previously announced honourees Bryan Adams, Ringo Starr, Chaka Khan, Roy Orbison and Zz Top.

Starr’s honour will come almost a year after his late former bandmate George Harrison’s star was unveiled. Both plaques and the Beatles’ star will sit outside Hollywood’s Capitol Records building – the Fab Four’s former U.S. home.

News: Oscars Double Up Best Films For 2010

Wow, I think this is a big shock that it is changing to 10. But so good at the same time, the fact that now a more wide range of movies will be nominated and will possibly make it harder to guess what will win the best picture. Bring on the 2010 Oscars !!!

The organisers of the Oscars have doubled up the Best Film category for next year’s Academy Awards.

Ten movies will be shortlisted for the big prize at the 82nd Oscars in March.

Explaining the shift, Academy Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Sid Ganis says, “After more than six decades, the Academy is returning to some of its earlier roots, when a wider field competed for the top award of the year.

“The final outcome, of course, will be the same – one Best Picture winner – but the race to the finish line will feature 10, not just five, great movies from 2009.”

An average of 10 films competed annually for the top prize for the first 16 years of the Oscars and the last classic to win gold after beating out nine other movies was Casablanca in 1943.

Ganis adds, “Having 10 Best Picture nominees is going allow Academy voters to recognise and include some of the fantastic movies that often show up in the other Oscar categories, but have been squeezed out of the race for the top prize.”

News: Spacey’s Bond Dreams

I think Kevin would be a fantastic Bond villian as he really is a great actor, one of my favorites, and to see him in the same movie as Daniel Craig would be great.

Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey is urging James Bond bosses to consider him for a role in the next movie – because he has always dreamed of playing a 7 Things villain.

The Oscar winner played legendary comic book bad guy Lex Luthor in 2006’s Superman Returns, and he now has set his sights on a role opposite Daniel Craig in the follow up to last year’s Quantum of Solace.

Spacey insists playing an arch enemy of the suave secret agent is high on his list of priorities.

He says, “I would love to play the villain in Bond, but they haven’t called yet.”

News: Penn Takes A Break From Movies

Hopefully this will not be for too long !!!

Sean Penn is taking a break from his movie career – the Oscar winner has pulled out of his next two film projects.

The star has quit his upcoming role in action picture Cartel and scrapped plans to work alongside Benicio Del Toro and Jim Carrey in The Three Stooges.

Penn, who recently reconciled with wife Robin Wright Penn after their second split in 18 months, is rumoured to be taking time out to spend more time with his partner and their two teenage children.

The actor’s publicist Mara Buxbaum confirmed the news to E! Online, “We indeed informed both productions that Sean was not available now. If for whatever reason the start dates on these productions were to be postponed, Sean would happily remain involved.”

News: Black Wants To Be A Ghostbuster

I think Jack Black would fit in so well in Ghostbusters !!!

Jack Black is desperate to star in the new Ghostbusters sequel and lobbied original star Harold Ramis when the pair worked together on new movie Year One.

After directing Black in the neanderthal comedy, Ramis is preparing to reprise his role as Dr. Egon Spengler in the third Ghostbusters film.

The veteran is also on the shortlist to direct the sequel, and Black admits he used his time with Ramis to campaign for the chance to hunt ghouls with him.

Black tells Moviefone, “Could I see myself in it? Yeah, I can bust some ghosts! I ain’t (sic) afraid of no ghosts! Buster.”

Ghostbusters III will star the original line-up of Ramis, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, as well as a new batch of younger spook chasers.
