A look back at 2006 in film!

I don’t see 2006 as 10 years ago I mean that is just madness. But it has been a whole decade now since that year, which is terrifying in all honesty. I thought it was a perfect opportunity to have a look back in this blog post at the films from 2006, the ones I enjoyed at the time, the ones I have caught up with and quite frankly the ones which are getting better with age and standing the test of ten years.

2006 was also pre-blog so I don’t even have many reviews for films from that year, if you search 2006 as a tag I am sure you will be shocked to see the lack of reviews. Especially when one of them is a bit of a strange film choice.

Football in Film

I was sent a link to this timeline and thought it was well worth posting. Considering I work full time in football and being a fan and player as well it was appropriate to include it!

Hello by Adele – Disney Character Voices!

I know these have been done before but it doesn’t stop them being totally brilliant does it! Here is a fantastic video of a man singing Adele’s Hello with all different Disney characters and it is incredible!

Mrs Doubtfire – Deleted Scenes

I came across this late last night and find it to be really incredible to watch in all honesty. It just shows how many different layers they put together for what I certainly regard as one of my all time favourite films.

But if these scenes had been left in it certainly would have given it a much darker edge, as it did place a lot of the emphasis on the comedy and funny moments. I like that this has come to my attention as it shows more of the horrible things that happen when a family breaks up.

Also showing once again how great Robin Williams and Sally Field were acting together!

What are your thoughts on these deleted scenes and do you think they should have left them in?

vueliotop10badge2016_zpsyelvyt99

I received a great email yesterday from Vuelio saying that I had made the top 10 in the list they put together of the most influential Film Blogs in the UK! Very proud and honoured to make a top 10 list with some fantastic other blogs which I have followed for some time.

Once again a massive thanks to Vuelio for recognising Let’s Go To The Movies as 10th spot in the list!

RIP David Bowie: A Tribute

With the unexpected news this morning that we have lost a legend in David Bowie, I really felt that I needed to do a small tribute to the incredible man, musician, song writer and actor. He really was something else, in a different mould to everyone else and a persona we will never ever see again. He was unique. I went though a Glam Rock phase as a teenager and of course Bowie was very much part of that, I also have to say that my dad played a huge part in that as he is such a big Bowie fan.

It also seems fitting with how many of his songs have been used in films as well as his many acting appearances as well, I always remember him in The Prestige and that was a total shock as had known idea that he was even in the film! Because of his unique style and many different types of songs he certainly has had them appear in many many films, often making them just that little bit better.

The Jean Genie is quite possible my favourite of his songs, so tricky to pick though . . .

Bondathon – Fights Analysed

I was sent this about a month ago now before the release of Spectre but never really thought about posting it on here until getting right into my Bondathon! I think it’s quite interesting to think about the different Bond’s and how they are thought of in terms of fighting. I am sure some it if will come as a complete surprise. It was put together by people over at Lottoland.

I guess while it goes for each James Bond rather than per film some of the stats for that actor might seem a little bit strange. Lazenby must have just been too violent in his one and only appearance as 007!

Movie Homes (You really want to live in?)

The people over at MorphSuits.com sent me this via email and I thought it was rather interesting.

Which would you like to try out living in?

Or what would you like to add to this list?
