News: LaBeouf In Talks To Take Over Sheen’s Greedy Role

I think Shia LeBeouf would be a really good choice for the second Wall Street movie.

Shia LaBeouf is in talks to take over Charlie Sheen‘s role as a desperate young stockbroker in the forthcoming sequel to 1987 film Wall Street.

LaBeouf is negotiating with bosses at 20th Century Fox to join Michael Douglas, who’s been recast by director Oliver Stone for Wall Street 2, a follow-up to the Oscar-winning drama, reports Variety.

Sheen starred as Bud Fox in the original, about a young broker struggling to get to the top while surrounded by greed and corruption.

The original film’s stars received mixed reviews. Douglas won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as ruthless Wall Street player Gordon Gekko while Daryl Hannah‘s performance earned her a Razzie Award for Worst Supporting Actress.

Ledger’s Last Film To Hit Cannes

Its nice to see it will get a place in a film festival, to get it out there nice and early.

The film Heath Ledger was making when he died last year is set to premiere at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival in France after becoming a last-minute screening.

Film fans and the media are expected to flock to Terry Gilliam’s The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when it opens on the eve of a day of publicity on 22 May.

The film will not be among those competing for film festival prizes.

As well as Ledger, the film features Christopher Plummer, Verne Troyer, Lily Cole and Tom Waits and Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law, who stepped in to complete the tragic actor’s scenes.

Ledger died from an accidental drug overdose in January 2008.

News: Douglas Back To The Bank For Wall Street 2

I think this is fantastic news 🙂 I love Michael !!!

Michael Douglas is heading back to Wall Street – he will return to the big screen as evil moneyman Gordon Gekko.

Rumours of a sequel to the hit 1987 movie have mounted since the collapse of the modern global banking system – with film fans suggesting it is the perfect time for Douglas to reprise his Oscar-winning role as the ruthless banking boss.

And the actor has listened to cinemagoers’ demands – agreeing to team up with director Oliver Stone again to shoot Wall Street 2.

20th Century Fox will begin filming in the summer.

A spokesman for the studio says, “We need to keep the story line under wraps, but it’s literally ripped from today’s headlines. It’s going to be very big and very cool.”

And Douglas can’t wait to get back into his red braces, recently saying: “Gordon Gekko is a great, old-fashioned villain. And, interestingly enough, if you look at most actors’ careers, their biggest achievement, not necessarily success… is playing a bad guy.”

Dunst A Doubt For Spider-man 4

I bet she regrets the previous 3 she has done, as they are not really the best . . .

Spider-man may have to swing into action without his leading lady – movie bosses are still battling to persuade Kirsten Dunst to sign up for the fourth installment of the superhero franchise.

The 26 year old has starred in all three Spider-Man films as Mary Jane Watson, opposite leading man Tobey Maguire.

But while Maguire has confirmed he will appear in the fourth and fifth films in the franchise, Dunst is still pondering whether to rejoin the cast.

Director Sam Raimi says, “I’m hoping that she is going to come on board and I’ve got a meeting coming up with her. I think she would like to but I don’t want to speak on her behalf.”

While a source tells Britain’s Daily Express, “It had been presumed that Kristen would sign up for the fourth but she’s still not agreed. She needs to be assured that the story is going to be a strong one, in terms of her character. The films clearly wouldn’t be the same without her.”

Bale To Box With Wahlberg In New Film

I very much like the sound of this, love Christian and Mark . . . both of them in a movie about boxing is just going to be incredible !!!

Christian Bale is stepping into the boxing ring with Mark Wahlberg – the actors have signed up to co-star in new film The Fighter.

Bale will play boxer Dicky Eklund in the movie, about the path to redemption from a life of drugs and crime he discovers by helping his half-brother, Wahlberg’s character ‘Irish’ Mickey Ward, to win the world lightweight championship.

Director Darren Aronofsky had previously lined up Matt Damon and Brad Pitt for the role, before Bale was poised as a replacement.

Production is scheduled to begin in July, reports Daily Variety.
