That’s right today marks the anniversary of Let’s Go To The Movies or blogaversary as it would have once been known. On the 9th February 2009 I made my first post and let’s face it I probably didn’t think that 16 years later I would still be reviewing the films that I have watched at the cinema, now on streaming and catching up with classics of years gone by. But somehow Let’s Go To The Movies is still going and in the past few months I hit that incredible 2 million views and eventually managed to purchase the .com domain I had been after for a long time.

That’s right Tom Selleck turns 80 years old today! I’m still feeling rather sad with Blue Bloods having just ended, a tv show that he totally owned from start to finish. Known for many other films and tv roles, naturally being in Friends as Richard is also a particular highlight! Happy Birthday Tom 🥳
Movie-goers are used to seeing casino games on the big screen. From roulette and blackjack in movies such as Casino and 21 to poker in Casino Royale, gambling has become a popular trope. However, there’s one game that’s often overlooked by movie directors, and it’s called bingo. TV scriptwriters and producers are more in tune with the game. Indeed, you’ll see bingo scenes if you watch Better Call Saul and Curb Your Enthusiasm. But when it comes to the big screen, bingo is criminally underrepresented.
The Forgotten Game
We’re not saying you can’t find examples of bingo in movies. Big Momma’s House and Rampage have scenes in bingo halls, but the game isn’t the main focus. That’s interesting, given the renaissance bingo has experienced over the last decade. This renaissance is apparent when you scroll through the gaming lobbies of online casinos.
