McKellen: Playing the Part is a truly fantastic documentary taking a look at the life and work of acting legend Sir Ian McKellen. A very intimate journey with the man showing sides to him that we have never really seen before.
Here we go with my run down of everything I managed to catch at the Theatre in 2018, this includes plenty of UK Touring shows coming to Newcastle’s Theatre Royal and the Sunderland Empire. I squeezed in a few London trips and even another New York trip thanks to my marathon place!
In 2016 I managed to see 31 shows. In 2017 I managed to see 36 shows. My total for this year 2018 was 26 different shows. Not as many as the previous two years, but still a very impressive number. Check out which shows here!

On The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Miley Cyrus decided to make some changes to Santa Baby and changed the lyrics to update the song. I personally think this is absolutely brilliant!

Sunderland ‘Til I Die is a truly incredible insight into a football club and how it supporting a team can be utterly heartbreaking as a fan. This Documentary was supposed to be tracking the club who had just be relegated from the Premier League to the Championship to seeing them return to the top flight of English football as soon as possible. What was about to follow was so far from that you still cannot quite believe it actually happened.
We all have our favourite image of Santa Claus from watching films and feel as though that is our Santa! I have decided to pick my favourite seven from the world of the movies! Obviously having to start with this amazing photo of Buddy the Elf who is very excited about this list!
So many to choose from over the years of film and some of the choices I found very easy and others I have tried to be a little bit different in terms of the films I have enjoyed which may just have a slightly different take on the role we all know and love.
Mary Poppins makes a magical return as she must continue to look after the Banks children. This time Michael is struggling after the death of his wife and raising his three children Anabel, John and Georgie. About to lose the house on Cherry Tree Lane his sister Jane is trying to help the best she can.
