June 2017 at the Cinema

Half way through the year now and it has been pretty mixed so far in terms of films. I think this month was pretty strong really, yes really even though I saw King Arthur and The Mummy. I thought the films I went to see tried to do something and contenders for films of 2017 do appear as well!

£17.90 per month for Cineworld Unlimited Card, I went to see 7 films which means it therefore cost me a very small £2.55 per film this month.

I saw the following films in June

1st – Wonder Woman – Review

2nd  – King Arthur: Legend of the Sword – Review

14th – The Mummy – Review

18th – Gifted – Review

19th – My Cousin Rachel – Review

20th – Baby Driver – Review (Unlimited Screening)

22nd – Churchill – Review

Trailer: The Greatest Showman (2017)

Hugh Jackman back in a musical, yes please! That is what we want to see more and more of, leading the line for the big onscreen musicals. Taking on the role of P. T. Barnum who really changed everything in the entertainment world. I have seen the stage show, which wasn’t overly impressive. But luckily this film looks like it is going to be on another level completely.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) Trailer

I guess this means it is real now, the remake or reboot or something like that of Jumanji. I must say that I still love Jumanji to this day and enjoy watching it as much now as I did back when it was released in the 90s. I was pretty disappointed when I heard they were bringing it back, have a watch . . .

Musical Moments – Dirty Dancing (Part 2)

I am heading to the Theatre tonight to see Dirty Dancing on stage. I had never really fancied it in all honesty, but I am eventually going to see what it is like. If I enjoy it, always difficult when they are based on a pretty iconic film and that is certainly the case with this one.

I have already done a post in the past with Time of My Life, so thought I would go for She’s Like the Wind for today’s musical moment!

I haven’t listened to anything from the show so that will be a slight surprise.

Tony Awards 2008!

A few days on ago on Facebook this incredible memory popped up from 2008 when I attended the Tony Awards in New York! An amazing evening seeing so many different people perform from so many outstanding shows. Watching In the Heights pick up the best new musical award, the night after seeing it on Broadway.
