London Marathon 2016!

logo-9ba41baa1cd2_zps6dpcfctt

You may have noticed the lack of activity on my blog for the past couple of weeks, well that is because I have been preparing (and panicking) to take part in my first marathon. Which has seen me not make it to the cinema as often as usual!

It is going to be my biggest physical and psychological challenge yet. I have completed five half marathons, so this going to be that next incredible step. I am also going to be raising money for the Sunderland and Gateshead Girls Centre of Excellence which you can read more about here –My Story!

RIP Chyna

I woke up to this sad news this morning. I was such a fan of Joanie when I used to watch the Wrestling and as a young girl I felt she was an inspiration for women to never give up and prove that we can really compete with men. I will be forever grateful for the courage she gave me to believe I could do anything I wanted! Even when having a tough life and having to constantly fight (her book is very good as well).

RIP Joanie Laurer ❤

The Huntsman: Winter’s War (2016) Review

huntsman_ver10_zpswflykrl7

Two evil sisters attempting to conquer the land we get the story before Snow White came along which saw Freya becoming the Ice Queen. This is a prequel and then sequel all mixed as one linking in with Snow White and the Huntsman.

The BFG (2016) Trailer

This is the latest trailer to come from the op and coming BFG film and it certainly shows us a little bit more than the first trailer did. Which was more of a teaser and I will admit that I really enjoyed that trailer a lot mainly because I had no idea the film was coming out so it was a nice surprise. I loved the animated version when I was a kid so think this film will be a walk down memory lane in such a new way!

Also the fact Mark Rylance is one of my actors of the moment after his terrific performance in Bridge of Spies!

Are you looking forward to this one?

North East Theatre – April 2016

Considering I spend quite a lot of time at the Theatre (although not as much as I would like) I thought I would do a post each month highlighting the shows you can catch in the North East of England. I haven’t come across many blogs which feature shows in the North East and reviews of shows at either the Sunderland Empire or Theatre Royal in Newcastle come from the local papers/press.

Here is what you can catch around the North East in April!

Tues 5th-Sat 9th – Oliver! (Amateur Production, Tyne Theatre and Opera House)

Sat 9th –Patricia Routledge In Conversation With Edward Seckerson (Customs House/South Shields)

This is something I am looking to get a ticket for as I think it will be really interesting to see the legend that is Mrs Bucket from Keeping Up Appearances talking about her career etc!

Stage Door – Lesley Joseph

When it was announced that Lesley Joseph would be returning to Annie as Miss Hannigan at different venues and Sunderland was one of those I just had to go! I have always loved Birds of a Feather (UK TV Series) and its great its been back on recently.

She was absolutely lovely (as expected) and I got a great photo, told her I came to see her the last time she was in the Annie tour to which she responded with that was 17 years ago! I honestly didn’t realise it was that long ago which meant I was only 11 years old!

Such a thrill to meet her and she was fantastic in the show (review to follow).
